Died on a train

Classification: Query
Surnames: Hamilton
My 3x ggrandfather Captain Richard Hamilton died on a train in the Houston area in 1881 leaving my ggg grandmother destitute in South Africa. The nearest station to where he was found dead (on the train) was "passing Hockley" on the Texas-Central Line - heading for Houston where he planned to connect to San Antonio to farm sheep.

The news was reported as HOUSTON area news in the Galveston Daily.

He died on June 11th, 1881.

The Coroner was called and an inquest was held at the Central Depot. His name was Coroner May.

Questions:
Does anyone know where the Central Depot was - would this be in Houston?
Do you know where I can find records of Houston Coroners to see where Coroner May worked.
If such a thing exists, how could I go about finding a death certificate for Captain Richard Hamilton?

Help please, any Texan Genealogists :)
