I grew up in Marshall and my family worked for the railroad. Ther was a lake/pond called T&P Lake north of Marshall on the north/south tracks. The lake was on the west side of the tracks. We use to walk the tracks out to the lake to go fishing. We use to swim in the lake as well. It seems like there was a clearing on the west side of the lake where people would swim and picnic. To locate the lake I'm speaking of go north on Sue Belle Road from Loop 390. Take the first dirt road to the right just off loop 390. This will wind down to the lake. Or you can follow the T&P tracks north out of the city and it's on the left side of the tracks just past Loop 390. As I said back in the 50's-60's this was T&P Lake. The railroad built this lake for railrod use.
