Looking for information on G(eorge?) W. Martin who is in the Harrison County U.S. Censuses of 1850 and 1860 and apparently in the Tax List of 1846. He was born abt. 1822 in Alabama. From the 1850 census one can deduce that his mother was Sarah, b. abt. 1787 in SC and his brother was Joseph, b. abt. 1824 in AL. I speculate that his brother got married between 1850 and 1860 and moved to Hopkins County, TX but have no proof. G. W. had a daughter Martha Ann Martin, b. abt. 1843 in TX. G. W. Martin's wife was dead before 1850 and he remaried to the daughter of Aaron E. Ferguson of Logansport, LA. The Ferguson family is my tie in. Any information on the Martins would be appreciated.
