Surnames: Bush, Lopshire, Brown, Kemper, Roper
I have just been researching a gg-grandmother, Mary Jane Bush, whose first husband (James Bush) is a brick wall and for any documentation I can find. In the newspapers I found that Mary's granddaughter at the age of 15 on her way home from school in McAllen, TX was assaulted and knifed to death by three assailants whom she could not identify during her time in the hospital before she died. The girl's name was Margaret Lucille Bush. This happened in May of 1939. In 1943 an article about another teen death mentioned that Margaret's murder remained unsolved. Also, the grandmother's name I am researching at that time was Mrs. Joseph A. Lopshire (he was her second husband, a local postmaster, and I believe deceased at the time of the incident). The granddaughter, Margaret, according to an article was living with her maternal grandparents, the Walter C. Brown family in McAllen, at the time. Any help with this family would be appreciated. Does anyone know if Margaret's killers were ever brought to justice?
