Around 1858 these 8 families migrated from Alabama to Hidalgo Tx. Most of them are listed on the 1860 Texas census as white men with black housekeepers their children are listed as being interracial children. This is highly unusual in this time and age.My wife is descended from one of these families or maybe even two or three of them. What I am looking for are descendants that may have an oral or written history on these families. I have an idea how ,and why these families are here. I would like to confirm this. Any and all help would be appreciated very much. Thanks so very much J.Proctor
