Tee Junior Jaynes, 75, of Peoria died Thursday, July 4, at a Waco hospital. He was born March 22, 1927, in Paduca, son of Thomas Aaron and Zula Everett Jaynes, and grew up in Hill County. He married Mattie Lee Dempsey December
18, 1948, and she preceded him in death. He lived in Waco, Whitney and Tyler before moving to Peoria in 1997. He served as a brakeman for the Cotton Belt/Southern Pacific Railroad for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was
an Army and Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Jaynes was preceded in death by one son, Tee Jay Jaynes. Survivors include: four children, Thomas Jaynes, Sammy Jaynes and Rita Lopez, all of Tyler, and
Teena Carlisle and her husband, Dwayne, of Lindale; two sisters, Vesta Shockey of Athens and Hazel Hull of Durant, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Peoria Cemetery with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
