Hi all,
Looking for some "lost" relatives. Would love to find out what happened to them and add their descendants to the family tree.
My gr-gr-gr-grandfather, William Hammett THRASH, had 3 brothers and 1 sister who left Georgia and moved to Texas. Am looking for information and/or cousins with whom to share information.
THRASH, Robert L., b. September, 1864, GA, died unknown. According to the Will of his brother, John F. THRASH, dated 6/19/1915, Robert was then (1915) living in Dublin, TX.
Just received today from a cousin the following info:
Listed on 1900 Census Index in Texas:
R L Thrash, September 1864, age 35, Georgia
Vol 52, 83, (couldn't read), line 94
Hasnelton (sp?) county, Pct 2
Mattie, wife, March, 1868, age 32, Georgia
Mattie L., Daughter, November, 1893, age 6, Alabama
This is the first news I've had of his marriage/children. He may have had more children. Internet searches have found a death record of a Mattie L. THRASH in Hill County, TX, October, 1978. I don't know if this is the same Mattie, but it's worth a shot. I received an e-mail that there is/was a THRASH family in Hill County. They may have owned a grocery store in Hubbard. Can anyone shed some light on this?
If anyone has access to cemetery records, obituaries, land records, etc., I'd appreciate a lookup on Robert L. or Mattie THRASH.
The other 2 I'm looking for are:
THRASH, Joseph H., b. abt. 1872, GA, died unknown. According to John's Will, Joseph lived in Dallas, TX.
THRASH, Mattie D., b. abt. 1874, GA, married unknown McGINNISS, died unknown. According to John's Will, Mattie lived in Galveston, TX.
I've found info on THRASH, John F., b. abt. 1854, GA, died 9/13/1915, Dallas, TX. According to his Will he owned the Dallas Boiler Works at the time of his death. Don't believe he had children as his Will left assets to a wife, stepson, nephews, brothers and sisters.
If you descend from any of the above, I have lots of info to share. Please e-mail me at
ptm2754@cs.com.
Thanks, Pam
