Eliza Jane Kirkland married James Joseph Truscott Oct 21, 1852 in Jersey County, IL. In the 1860 census, J.J. & Eliza and children are living in Greene Co, IL. I have not been able to locate them in 1870, but by 1880 the widowed James is with a son in Baylor County, Texas.
I have been told that Eliza's parents were Issac & Melinda (Mann) Kirkland. This appears to be that Kirkland family in census records:
