Looking for information on DeAlton Saunders, who lived in Greenville from about 1920 to 1940. He was a cotton researcher, and well-known at the time.
What I am looking for is some information on what happened after he died.in May, 1949. His wife, Eva, was the daughter of a Civil War soldier, from New York, and I was told that she took his Civil War diary with her to Texas. She was very prominent in Greenville, and I doubt if her papers would have been destroyed.
Can someone give me some idea where I would go to look for these papers? Historical society, library, or some such that would have, in their possession, papers from the 1940's?
