James TAYLOR b. 1820 TN, his wife Lizzie (Louisa) b.1820 VA, son Jessie (Jesse) b 1860 MO are on the 1880 Census for Jack County, Texas. Possibly some of his children are listed on the same number page; Precinct 2, 26D. They are the wife of Joseph CLAYTON b.1854 MO, Martha Clayton b. 1862 GA, also in the Joseph Clayton home is a young man, James Taylor b. 1850 MO, that fits the age of James F. Taylors son, James Taylor b 1849.

The James Taylor family are not on the 1870 Census for Jack County, Texas. The enumerator, James Goodwin, writes very clearly, so I don't think I overlooked the name.

Many of James Taylor's children moved into the Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory ( Oklahoma ), before 1900. At least the ones I am familiar with.

I am hoping someone has seen the county where they lived, in the enumeration of 1870.
