Yes. They arrived in New Orleans in 1852 and transshipped to Corpus. Father, Benjamin, died in the yellow fever epidemic the next year. They are buried at Nuecestown (The Motts). A cousin went to Wales last year and found their farm. From the 1841 census, he appeared to be a prosperous farmer. I wonder why they emigrated. I suspect that he fell for Kinney's land promotion. Thomas Beynon had a livery business and served as Nueces County sheriff for several years. He was one of the appraisers of Captain King's estate.

It's trivial and I mean no disrespect. Nettie and Gertrude were first cousins. Nettie probably had "double cousins" via Thomas Beynon/Priscilla Hobbs? Do you have records of the Beynon siblings (Thomas, Sarah, Margaret, and Rosalind) emigration from Wales? Simply curious because of the rare surname, I'm not related.

"Double cousins" denotes kinship via both parents. Nettie's mom was Margaret Beynon who wed George Hobbs, 31 Dec 1867. Sarah Beynon wed John Wade, 27 Nov 1861. Was your granny from this line?

Hi,

There doesn't appear to be one in Jim Wells Co. Sometimes in Texas the societies are small enough to not be on the Internet. Here's the web site with all of them listed, www.txgenweb.org/tx/society.htm.

Thank you Mr. Gonzalez for your response. I had assummed something may not be right since FindAGrave has had no photo reguests filled.

I don't have any relatives with that surname just thought I'd help the memorial maker with finding his militay buddy's headstone.

That's very generous of you to offer to try again later. Maybe sometime if your there but no need to make any special trip for my request.

I recall trying to get photos at a Magna Cemetery here in Utah that had 80 to 100 reguest but when I went to the cemetery nothing could be found. The cemetery was being renovated after many years of neglect. This on going project should be complet next spring.

Again, thank you so much for your insight on the cemetery and response back to me.
Terrie

ohhh....and your FindAGrave contributes!

Hello there TJhome2001. I'm from San Antonio and just started to do some history of my family for the last 3 years. I finally went to Alice last year. The graveyard is very run down, no map of the graveyard, no markers and no office. There is no way of knowing where your requested graveyard is. I had a hard time to find my love ones one month but found them after my distant relatives showed me where they where, several months later. Unless you have relative to show where Mr.Guadalupe Gonzalez is, it's kinda hard to find. I had taken several random pictures of gravestones for FindAGrave. I'm also a Gonzalez and was on a look out for distant relatives. I haven't done much research on that side of the family yet. I will go back sometime in the future but like I said before kinda hard to track down a certain headstone. I will try though. Joe Gonzalez De La Garza.

Yes, I did see that page. The person who made the memorial page has had a photo request on that website since June 2011. That's what prompted me to ask here. I was hoping someone from Ancestry could come through with a headstone photo. The one photo is a memorial for all who have died serving, not a headstone for Mr.Guadalupe Gonzalez...and maybe he doesn't have a headstone.

New Collins Cemetery has 26 photo request posted at Find A Grave beginning from 2008 with no respond for any. I'm assuming a photo volunteer is not close by in that area to help. I would if I lived close but I'm from Utah.

I may need to call the cemetery to find out if a headstone is in place but seems a lot of cemeteries don't keep record of that info. Maybe I'll be lucky!

Thanks so much,
Terrie

Mack Ponder resided in Alice for many years engaged in the drilling and oil tool business. He died sometime in the late 1990's or early 2000's. I can't find his entry on the index of Texas deaths or on the SSDI. Information on his death and burial and a copy of any obituary would be appreciated. email eob1926 at cox dot net.

Judy,
Sorry for the delay in answering. I misplaced the file. Stumbled across it again today. I found the dates at the government site for Wozniki at "www.wozniki.pl"

I had googled the name Cyprian Wostal, and up came the page of baptisms or births for village of Piasek including: Cyprian Wostal (*19.09.1838). The page was specifically www.wozniki.pl/wozniki/?a;349 but now when I try to go to that page again, I cannot. It is all in Polish, so maybe your Polish Wostals can utilize this site. Please pass it on to them.

About the wife of Cyprian. All I can say is that the TX church said she was Bronzel, but I definitely saw Badura
on the Wozniki site, specifially Johann Badura (*27.06.1838), Florian Badura (*15.05.1842), Joseph Bodora (*14.02.1838), Wawrzin Bodora (*3.08.1840. Let me know and I can send you everything I downloaded at the time. Cheers!
