I would like any information on the first settlers in Leon Co. James C Bloodworth was deeded land in 1838 in Leon County. I have the grant information but would like to know where the property was located at in Leon Co. Is there any record of it being sold? I would like to know this as it may give me a time frame of when James may have died. James died in leon Co but I cannot find any information on the year, where he may have been buried or what caused his death. This was a time when the indians were killing the settlers, so they created the Fort and created a Texas Rangers unit there. James C Bloodworth was a member of the Rangers. I have papers documenting this. The family was very involved in the early settling of this area but I cannot find many documents. I would like to submit information that I find so that the family information could be included in the history books of Leon Co. Please help me in finding out more information on the family.
