John D. Taylor, son of Jennie and J.H. Taylor, was killed in Langeais, France, on 6 August 1944, during the strafing of a POW train by American fighter planes. He was listed as "missing in action" on 24 June 1944. He was a patient at the Rennes POW Hospital from 25 June 1944 until 12 July 1944 suffering from shrapnel wounds to his left leg and foot.
