Limestone co., and/or Robertson co.:
Seeking any information on Great Great Grandfather (and descendant's) It is of absolutely no concern to me if the persons listed were horse theives or peace officers:
Earl A Brown....? (great, great, great grandfather. No info)
George T. Brown (1841-1918) Son of Earl A. Brown. Texas Ranger, Confederate Veteran (with Texas Parson's Cavalry Brigade; 12th, co. K...And, so I have heard, a peace officer in thornton following the Civil War.)
Joseph Mitchell Brown (Brother of Geo. T. Brown. No dates. Also Confederate Veteran. Older brother.)
William H Brown (1/2 brother to Geo. T. and John Mitchell Brown...no dates or details. Also Confederate Vet. All three subsequently drew Confederate pensions.)
Jess Earl Brown (1877 or 8 - feb 1913. Son of George T. Brown. Supposedly died at 36 when his horse reared over, on the streets of downtown Thornton, the saddle horn crushing his chest. No family anecdotes which mention his blood-alcohol level at the time of this disaster.)
Grace Godfrey-Brown (wife of Jess Earl Brown. Supposedly died in childbirth in 1900 or 01. Said to have been from Kosse.)
If it helps, Albert and Edna Ellis of Tornton were my great-uncle and aunt. Helen Durham Burns of Ft. Worth was my great aunt.
