Dan Blocker of Bonanza fame, I understand, came from
O'Donnell. I remember reading in TV guide an article interviewing him when Bonanza was running that he was related to John R & Ab Blocker. The reason he brought it up was there had been an earlier TV series about cattlemen & cattle drives and it was said it was based on John R.& Ab. The series began in the mid 50s & ran to the early to mid 60s.
I am trying to remember the name of the series. I thought it was Dynasty and I am not referring to the soap opera TV
series called Dynasty.
John R. Blocker, it has been said, was the world's largest cattle baron. In a book published by the University of Texas
press it is said he had 25,000 head of cattle on one cattle drive alone..I understand every herd of cattle in Texas today has the Blocker strain.
My ggrandmother was a Blocker. My grandfather, Peter Ault,
went on cattle drives with them. From what I have learned about my grandfather, I believe he was portrayed in one of the shows.

If any Blockers still remain there and they know about the show I would appreciate hearing from them.
