Have you looked in the books "The Texas Rangers & The San Saba Mob " by Ross J. Cox Sr. Vol. 1 says; Criswell, James Yancey "Yank" (Nov 1859-1888) Born in Fayette County, TX and moved to San Saba Co. in about 1879. Lived there for a couple of years and relocated to McCulloch Co. Ambushed and shot off his wagon in McCulloch Co. 9 Aug 1888. Buried in the Cowboy Cemetery. See Vol. 2, page 42.
