Blakeney, Cherry
ANDREWS -- Cherry Blakeney, 89, of Andrews died Friday, Jan. 5, at Permian Residential Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. The Rev. Bryan Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
She was born July 7, 1917 in Peason, Ariz. She married Frank Blakeney September 16, 1934 in Globe, Ariz. She was a member of the New Life Worship Center in Andrews.
She was preceded in death by, her husband, Frank, her daughter, Betty Wynne; two sons, Bill and Tom.
She is survived by, one sons, Kenneth Blakeney of Andrews; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Cannon, Rebecca
BIG SPRING -- Rebecca "Becky" Cannon, 59, of Big Spring died Friday, Jan. 5, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Jess Colegrove officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Beckley, West Virginia to Waneta and Paris Mitchem. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by one son, Lee Hancock of Big Spring; one daughter, Sonya Faye Hernandez of Big Spring; one sister, Sherry Faye Adams of Big Spring; one brother, David Mitchem of Big Spring; seven grandchildren; three nephews; and one niece.

Dickson, Geneva
CRANE -- Geneva Dickson, 80 of Crane, died Friday, Jan. 5, in the Odessa Regional Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, in the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born June 22, 1926 in Kaw City, Okla. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lewis Dickson, and a son, Ray Dickson.
She is survived by two sons, Allan Dickson of Crane, and Van Dickson of Midland; a daughter, Fay Cornett of Seagraves; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Draper, Matilda
Matilda Draper, 93 of Midland, passed away Wednesday at 7:49 pm, January 3, 2007 in Midland. She was born September 19, 1913 north of Ault, CO to Frank and Susie Batman.
She grew up on a farm in Greely, CO. Myrtle graduated from Greely High School, she married Otha Draper, February 14, 1947 in New Mexico. He died January 26, 1999. They moved to Midland in 1986 from Odessa where Matilda was an avid sports fan and was very proud of her family. All of her children received a college education.
She is survived by her son, James Draper and wife, Laura of Midland, Jesse Draper and wife, Anita of Bethesda, Maryland, daughter, Marjorie Schneider and husband, Gary of Princeton, TX, brothers, Art Batman of Pierce, CO, B.C. Batman of Pierce, CO, Larry Batman of Greely, CO, sisters, Doris Kerbs of Greely, Nonie Horning of Evergreen, CO, 5 grandchildren, and
Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Monday, January 7, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Graham, Alice Ruth
Alice Ruth Graham, 79, of Midland died Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital. Services will be held Monday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. at the St. Marks United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karan Young, pastor, officiating and the Rev. William McReynolds assisting. A visitation will be held today, Jan. 7, from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 3800 N. Big Spring St. in Midland.
She was born Jan. 7, 1927 to Sid and Lee Ola Cross in Martin County. She married JW Graham May 14, 1944 in Martin, Co.
She was a charter member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, JW Graham of Midland; a son, Robert Graham of Louisville, KY; a daughter, Pamela Graham of San Marcas; four grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Rose Creech of Stanton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Taylor Cross.

Grilley, Steven Campbell
Steven Campbell Grilley, 53, of Stephenville, TX, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. During this time of ups and downs, he maintained a fighting spirit. He met each challenge head-on with determination. He is admired for his perseverance, strength, and integrity.
A Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Lyn Rice officiating.

Steven Campbell Grilley was born on April 7, 1953, to Edmund & Cornelia (Campbell) Grilley in Ft. Worth, TX. He married Linda Watson on February 6, 1999, at Salado, TX. He was a family man and loved spending time with family and friends. Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around. He was the ultimate handyman. His friends called him (Dr. G) because he could fix anything. He had an undying passion for adventure and a real need to speed. Steve enjoyed time spent at the lake in his boat, camping, and racing events.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Grilley; one son, Kade Watson; one sister-in-law, Georgia Grilley; three nieces, Elicia Grilley Green, Lauren and Abigail Grilley; many cousins, Mary Ann, Coral & Caleb Kawaja, Janet Campbell, Austin & Sara Campbell, Holten Campbell, Charisa Almager, and John Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Cornelia Grilley, one brother, Phillip Grilley, and a cousin, Scott Campbell.
Steven will be greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever.

Mendoza Jr., William "Willie"
BIG SPRING -- William "Willie" Mendoza, Jr., 63, of Big Spring died Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Services will be at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 7, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
He was born March 20, 1943, in Big Spring to Esperanza and William Mendoza, Sr. He served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Belinda Rodriguez Aug. 25, 1968, in Big Spring.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Mendoza of Big Spring; two sons, Danny Mendoza of Lubbock and Daniel Mendoza of Big Spring; three daughters, Briana Mendoza, Ashley Mendoza, and Brittany Mendoza, all of Big Spring; his mother, Esperanza Mendoza of Big Spring; four brothers, Albert Mendoza of Dallas, Charlie Mendoza, Victor Mendoza and Larry Mendoza all of Big Spring; three sisters, Lesvia Gamboa of Ft. Worth, Olga Billalba and Rosanna Everett, all of Big Spring, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Mendoza, Sr., May 18, 2000.

Thelma Mae Rodgers died Friday, Jan. 5.
She was born Oct. 30, 1930 in Parksburg, PA. to Lillie Mae Sowers Keneagy and John Elias Keneagy.
She was married to James W. Rodgers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Edward Harry Perley and daughter Deborah Ann Perley.
She is survived by her three sons; Anthony Perley of Joplin, Mo., George A. Jr. Perley of Midland and John Joseph Casella of Santa Ana, Calif.; two daughters, Rose Vollmers, and Tammie Newbold both of Midland; two sisters, Romaine Keneagy of Pocopson, Pa. and Mary Miller of New Providence, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Sadler, Betty
Betty Sadler, age 83, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
She was born April 28, 1923, to John and Jenny Mae (Allison) Blocker in Martin County, TX. She attended business college and was a nursing home administrator at Landsun Homes in Carlsbad, NM, and also the Good Samaritan Society facilities in Mt Lake, MN, and Alamogordo, NM. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Odessa and enjoyed United Methodist Women's work, "Feed My Sheep," and especially being a part of the choir. She also spent years of working in children's leadership training and was Conference Director of Children's Work for the New Mexico Conference.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Y. Sadler.
She is survived by her son, Greg Sadler of Sante Fe, NM; daughter, Joyce Caughron of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, John Blocker, Jr. of Hobbs, NM; eight grandchildren, Jesse Caughron of Carlsbad, NM; Mandi Winslow of Grand Blanc, MI; Stephanie, Tracy, Sky, Soleil, Sandy, and Bryn Sadler, all of the Sante Fe, NM area; one great-grandson, Jakob Roy Caughron, and numerous beloved family members and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2007, at Highland United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, TX.

Louise Brooks
Louise Brooks, 94, of Midland, died Saturday morning at a local nursing home.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Monday, January 8, 2007 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Girard Cemetery in Girard, Texas with Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating.
Mrs. Brooks was born December 27, 1912 in Nugent, Texas to Tony Warren and Sally Irene Matthew Woodson. She was reared and educated in Girard. While in Girard she met Jessie Alfred Brooks, they were married in Jayton, Texas on April 19, 1930. The Brooks made Girard their home until 1982 when they moved to Roby, Texas. Mr. Brooks died January 4, 1987 and in July Louise moved to Midland to be near her daughters and their families. She was a longtime member of the Girard Baptist Church where she was the Beginners Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband her brothers and sisters; Rube, Eva, Daughts, Lillian, Aletha, Barthenia and her son-in-law Don Huff who died January 2004.
Survivors include her daughters; Dorothy "Dot" Huff and Joann "Jody" Huff and her husband Jim of Midland. Her sister Allene of California. Seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Mansell, Ruby Estelle
Ruby Estelle Mansell, of Midland, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007.
She was born January 11, 1910 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to Pierce Franklin Murphey and Verbie Ann Rushing. Ruby was reared and educated in Roosevelt, Oklahoma. She met Ottis Mansell in Mountain Park, Oklahoma and the couple married on September 28, 1929. Ruby and Ottis farmed in the Roosevelt-Mountain Park area before moving to the Allendale community near Wichita Falls, Texas in 1937. The couple moved to Wichita Falls in 1954 where Ruby worked as a cafeteria manager at Barwise Jr. High School. She retired in 1975 and the Mansell's moved to Midland in 1976. Ruby was a member of Allendale Baptist Church, where she served as a church secretary, and First Baptist Church of Midland. She went to live with her daughter in Breckenridge, Texas in 1994 and returned to Midland in late 2004.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis James Mansell, February 17, 1987; son-in-law, James Hallie Chastain, Jr., July 7, 2004; brothers, Elmer Murphey, Dale Murphey, J.C. Murphey and sister Viola Mae Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Chastain, of Midland, TX; sisters, Minnie Mock and husband Haskell, of Oklahoma City, OK, Bertha Cowger, of Joliet, IL, Leona Murphey, of Choctaw, OK; grandsons, Gary Chastain and wife Debra, of Odessa, TX, Steve Chastain, of Wylie, TX, Greg Chastain, of Wylie, TX, 4 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. at Ellis Funeral Home.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at First Christian Church. Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls, TX.

Osborne, W. C. "Os"
W. C. "Os" Osborne passed away on January 5, 2007. He was born on August 16, 1923 in McGehee, Arkansas. After graduating from high school in Forest, Louisiana in 1940, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport in 1943. He then went on active duty with the U.S. Navy in September, 1943, graduated from Midshipman School in December, 1943, and was commissioned as an Ensign. Os served in the South Pacific during World War II, during which time he was shot down over the island of Borneo. His experience has been recorded as a part of a permanent exhibit at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Midland. In June, 1946, he was separated from the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant (Sr. Grade).
Os was married to Dixie Tarver on November 21, 1944, and upon his return from the War, he and Dixie moved to Midland. In 1946 he began his lengthy career in the oil and gas industry beginning with employment at Tide Water Associated Oil Company as a geologist. In 1951, he became District Geologist for Union Oil and Gas in Midland. In 1957, Os became Exploration Manager for American Trading and Production Corporation in Midland. In 1968, he became General Manager of American Trading's domestic operations. In August, 1970, Os opened his own office in Midland as Consulting Geologist and Independent Oil and Gas Operator. He worked in this capacity until his death.
Os was very active in his profession as a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and West Texas Geological Society. He was also very involved in his church, the First Baptist Church of Midland. He served his community as Chairman of the Board of Western State Bank and developer and past President of Green Tree Country Club. Os was a published author of his experiences in the oil industry in Running High/Looking Good and his life experiences in Looking Back.
Particularly rewarding to Os was his long and active involvement in the Masonic and Scottish Rite organizations. He was initiated into the Blue Lodge, Midland Lodge #623, in January, 1957 and raised to Master Mason in March, 1957. He served as its Trustee, Chaplain, Marshall, and Master of Ceremonies. Through the El Paso Scottish Rite Consistory, he was awarded the 32° in March, 1961; he was invested as Knight Commander Court of Honor in November, 1975; and coroneted as Inspector General of the 33° in November, 1993. Os served on its Finance and Executive Committees. In December, 1997, he became founding director of the El Paso Scottish Rite Historical Library and Museum Foundation. His other Scottish Rite activities included: former member of the Suez Temple, San Angelo; former President, Director, Almoner and Chairman of the Hospital Committee of the Midland Scottish Rite Association; former President and Permanent Trustee of the Midland Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation; Founding Director and former President of the Midland Masonic Historical Museum and Library Foundation; and former Degree Master of the 21°, former Assistant Degree Master of the 27°, and former Degree Master of the 31°. In addition, Os was involved in the York Rite through his membership in the Keystone Chapter #172 (Midland), Keystone Council #162 (Midland), and Midland Commandery Knights Templar. The Royal Order of Scotland was conferred on him in July, 1996. Most recently in December, 2006, Os was honored for his 50 years of Masonic service.
Throughout his Scottish Rite involvement, Os was especially dedicated to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas and has sponsored more children for acceptance and treatment than any other individual. He was very proud to have been elected as Trustee to the Scottish Rite Hospital, where he served as Trustee since January, 2001.
Os is survived by his wife, Dixie, and two children and two grandchildren, John Osborne, an attorney in Houston, Texas, his two sons, John and Taylor, and Janet Osborne Leal, a real estate professional in Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas. Carol Sue Rutherford, 71, of Midland passed away on January 5, 2007 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital . Sue graduated from Stamford High School, Stamford, Texas, in 1953, and married John William Rutherford in 1955. She resided in Colorado City, Rule, Big Spring, Monahans, and Midland, Texas. She retired as an employee of the City of Midland in 1996. Sue was a resident of the Manor Park community and enjoyed doing volunteer work for Alzheimer's patients.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Rutherford of Fairview, Texas, and his wife Patricia; John S. Rutherford of Midland and his wife Deanna; and Jim Rutherford of Sharpsburg Georgia, and his wife Rebecca; seven grandchildren, Brian Rutherford and his wife Julie, Lauren Rutherford, Will Rutherford, Kaden Rutherford, Noah Rutherford, Kennedy Rutherford, and Jacob Rutherford. Sue is also survived by brothers and sisters Jane Lloyd of Graham, Texas and her husband Bill; Faye Stubbs of San Angelo, Texas; Bob Prewit of Silver City, New Mexico and his wife Dorothy; Verna Davis of Big Spring, Texas and her husband Don Finkenbinder; Jim Prewit of West Columbia, Texas and wife Linda; Carl Prewit of Corpus Christi, Texas and wife Janice; two sister-in-laws, Doris Prewit, of Winters, Texas and Edith Prewit of Hobbs, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, William M (Bill) Prewit, E.E. (Gene) Prewit, Donald L. (Don) Prewit, and Tommy J. Prewit; and two sisters, Linda Kay Prewit, and Lucy Prewit Jarmes.

Sadler, Betty
Betty Sadler, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 4, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born April 28, 1923, to John and Jenny Mae (Allison) Blocker in Martin County. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Odessa.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Y. Sadler.
She is survived by her son, Greg Sadler of Sante Fe, N.M.; daughter, Joyce Caughron of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother, John Blocker Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson and numerous family members.
Services will be 11 a.m. today, Jan. 8, at Highland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to Highland United Methodist Church in her memory.

Draper, Matilda
Matilda Draper died at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007. She was 93.
She was born September 19, 1913, on a farm in Ault, Colorado, the fifth of eleven children of Arthur and Susie Batman. She graduated from Pierce High School, where she and her sisters played women's basketball, which became an avid lifelong interest. She later received her teaching degree from Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley. She was teaching elementary school in Carlsbad, New Mexico, when she met Otha Draper. They were married on February 14, 1947, and lived 49 years in Odessa, Texas, before moving to Midland in 1986. Her husband died in January 1999.
She is survived by five siblings: Nonie Horning of Morrison, Colorado, Doris Kerbs of Greeley, Colorado, Ben Batman of Pierce, Colorado, B.C. Batman of Pierce, Colorado, and Larry Batman of Greeley, Colorado. She is also survived by three children: Marjorie Schneider of Princeton, Texas, James Draper of Midland, Texas, and Jesse Draper of Bethesda, Maryland; five grandchildren: Gary Schneider of Leander, Texas, Cori Coffey of Princeton, Texas, Beth Kegarise of Milan, Ohio, Kenneth Draper of Bloomington, Indiana, and Natalie Draper of Bethesda, Maryland; and eight great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Hughes, Sheirran
Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Sheirran Norton Hughes left this life to live in glory forever with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at her residence.
She had courageously fought many illnesses over the past year. With each new development, she faced it head on with determination and spirit to be healed.
Sheirran was born September 27, 1944 to Francis Xavier Norton and Virginia Lee Marek Norton in Temple, Texas. For over 25 years, Sheirran ran a children's day care in her home. Her home was always open to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sheirran is survived by her husband, Bobby D. Osborne, W. C. "Os"
W. C. "Os" Osborne passed away on January 5, 2007. He was born on August 16, 1923 in McGehee, Arkansas. After graduating from high school in Forest, Louisiana in 1940, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport in 1943. He then went on active duty with the U.S. Navy in September, 1943, graduated from Midshipman School in December, 1943, and was commissioned as an Ensign. Os served in the South Pacific during World War II, during which time he was shot down over the island of Borneo. His experience has been recorded as a part of a permanent exhibit at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Midland. In June, 1946, he was separated from the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant (Sr. Grade).
Os was married to Dixie Tarver on November 21, 1944, and upon his return from the War, he and Dixie moved to Midland. In 1946 he began his lengthy career in the oil and gas industry beginning with employment at Tide Water Associated Oil Company as a geologist. In 1951, he became District Geologist for Union Oil and Gas in Midland. In 1957, Os became Exploration Manager for American Trading and Production Corporation in Midland. In 1968, he became General Manager of American Trading's domestic operations. In August, 1970, Os opened his own office in Midland as Consulting Geologist and Independent Oil and Gas Operator. He worked in this capacity until his death.
Os was very active in his profession as a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and West Texas Geological Society. He was also very involved in his church, the First Baptist Church of Midland. He served his community as Chairman of the Board of Western State Bank and developer and past President of Green Tree Country Club. Os was a published author of his experiences in the oil industry in Running High/Looking Good and his life experiences in Looking Back.
Particularly rewarding to Os was his long and active involvement in the Masonic and Scottish Rite organizations. He was initiated into the Blue Lodge, Midland Lodge #623, in January, 1957 and raised to Master Mason in March, 1957. He served as its Trustee, Chaplain, Marshall, and Master of Ceremonies. Through the El Paso Scottish Rite Consistory, he was awarded the 32° in March, 1961; he was invested as Knight Commander Court of Honor in November, 1975; and coroneted as Inspector General of the 33° in November, 1993. Os served on its Finance and Executive Committees. In December, 1997, he became founding director of the El Paso Scottish Rite Historical Library and Museum Foundation. His other Scottish Rite activities included: former member of the Suez Temple, San Angelo; former President, Director, Almoner and Chairman of the Hospital Committee of the Midland Scottish Rite Association; former President and Permanent Trustee of the Midland Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation; Founding Director and former President of the Midland Masonic Historical Museum and Library Foundation; and former Degree Master of the 21°, former Assistant Degree Master of the 27°, and former Degree Master of the 31°. In addition, Os was involved in the York Rite through his membership in the Keystone Chapter #172 (Midland), Keystone Council #162 (Midland), and Midland Commandery Knights Templar. The Royal Order of Scotland was conferred on him in July, 1996. Most recently in December, 2006, Os was honored for his 50 years of Masonic service.
Throughout his Scottish Rite involvement, Os was especially dedicated to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas and has sponsored more children for acceptance and treatment than any other individual. He was very proud to have been elected as Trustee to the Scottish Rite Hospital, where he served as Trustee since January, 2001.
Os is survived by his wife, Dixie, and two children and two grandchildren, John Osborne, an attorney in Houston, Texas, his two sons, John and Taylor, and Janet Osborne Leal, a real estate professional in Dallas, Texas.

BIG SPRING -- Noe Blanco Jr., 46, of Big Spring died Friday, Jan. 5, in Lubbock. Services will be 2 p.m. today, Jan. 10, at Lighthouse Restoration Center with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born Aug. 20, 1960, in Lockney, to Simona and Noe Blanco, Sr. He married Gracie Rincon of Big Spring July 14, 1980.

Dyer, Rick
Rick Dyer, 55, of Big Spring, died at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Monday afternoon, January 8, 2007. Ricky was born in Big Spring on January 5, 1952 to Hubert H. and Mar Lou Dyer. After graduating from Big Spring High School in 1970, he followed his dad into the plumbing business. He achieved his "Master Plumber" license at a very young age and owned and operated Dyer Plumbing and Air Conditioning. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a business man and an entrepreneur. Ricky was interested in his community and ran for public office.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 11, 2007, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Raye Nell Dyer, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include one son, Richie F. Dyer and wife, Carol of Big Spring; two granddaughters, Kendra and Kaylee Dyer both of Big Spring; two sisters, Candra Pickett and husband, Roy of Odessa and Pamela Rolfe of Big Spring; one brother, Rocky Dyer and wife, Sharon of Midland; several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and life-long friends.

Ricky was very close to his son, Richie, who was the joy of his life. He loved children and enjoyed taking his granddaughters for rides to get chocolate and toys! One of his life-long dreams was to learn to fly an airplane, which he did, and loved every minute he spent in the air!

Ronald Adrian Hebert was born Jan 30, 1938 in Louisville, New York, he passed away January 7, 2007 in Midland. He was a Veteran, serving in the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane in 1986, and a great grandson, in 2006.

Kiowski, Mary
Tuesday, Jan. 9, Mary Lou Kiowski died. A rosary will be Thursday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Midland. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, also at St. Stephen's. A private interment will be held.
She was born in Wellsville, Kan. Sept. 6, 1916. She was born to Maude Dixon Shields and Byron Shields. She then married Joseph William Kiowski of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Olive and Jean and her brothers, Raymond, Charles, James and Delmas.

Koistinen, Clifford Vincent
Clifford Vincent Koistinen, of Midland, passed from this life to the next on Sunday, January 07, 2007. The LORD gave him 85 wonderful years with his family and friends. He was born July 10, 1921 in Hayti, South Dakota to Dogne and Martin Koistinen. He attended public schools in South Dakota and moved to Detroit, Michigan where he met and married Mary Elizabeth Skidmore on January 18, 1942. He served in the Army during World War II in the Intelligence and Reconnaissance platoon of Headquarters Company, 32nd, Infantry Regiment, 7th Army Division. Was wounded in 1945 in the invasion of Okinawa Island for which he received the Purple Heart. He was a tool and dye maker by trade and worked for 30 years in Michigan before moving to Tacoma, Washington to finish out his working years before retiring from the Boeing Aircraft Company. In 1990 he and his wife Mary moved to Midland, Texas to be near their children. He was a member of First Assembly Of God in Midland and First Baptist Church of Midland. He enjoyed his family, golf, card games, scrabble and many friends from his Sunday School class.
Clifford was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Skidmore) Koistinen in 1991, father Martin and mother Dogne, brother George and wife Charlotte, sisters Gladys (Luella) and husband Richard Robinson, sister Adelaide and husband Leroy Oldenkamp, sister Betty and husband Melvin Downs, brother- in- law Noel Dingman, sister-in-law Erma Koistinen, and son-in-law Anthony Perez.
In 1996 Clifford married Lillian Woods and they enjoyed the last ten years of his life together.
He is survived by his wife Lillian (Woods) Koistinen of Midland, TX; sons, Clifford (Vincent) Koistinen and wife, Carolyn of Ft. Darah Loggins, of Midland, died Monday, Jan. 8.

Osborne, W. C. "Os"
W. C. "Os" Osborne passed away on January 5, 2007. He was born on August 16, 1923 in McGehee, Arkansas. After graduating from high school in Forest, Louisiana in 1940, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport in 1943. He then went on active duty with the U.S. Navy in September, 1943, graduated from Midshipman School in December, 1943, and was commissioned as an Ensign. Os served in the South Pacific during World War II, during which time he was shot down over the island of Borneo. His experience has been recorded as a part of a permanent exhibit at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Midland. In June, 1946, he was separated from the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant (Sr. Grade).
Os was married to Dixie Tarver on November 21, 1944, and upon his return from the War, he and Dixie moved to Midland. In 1946 he began his lengthy career in the oil and gas industry beginning with employment at Tide Water Associated Oil Company as a geologist. In 1951, he became District Geologist for Union Oil and Gas in Midland. In 1957, Os became Exploration Manager for American Trading and Production Corporation in Midland. In 1968, he became General Manager of American Trading's domestic operations. In August, 1970, Os opened his own office in Midland as Consulting Geologist and Independent Oil and Gas Operator. He worked in this capacity until his death.
Os was very active in his profession as a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and West Texas Geological Society. He was also very involved in his church, the First Baptist Church of Midland. He served his community as Chairman of the Board of Western State Bank and developer and past President of Green Tree Country Club. Os was a published author of his experiences in the oil industry in Running High/Looking Good and his life experiences in Looking Back.
Particularly rewarding to Os was his long and active involvement in the Masonic and Scottish Rite organizations. He was initiated into the Blue Lodge, Midland Lodge #623, in January, 1957 and raised to Master Mason in March, 1957. He served as its Trustee, Chaplain, Marshall, and Master of Ceremonies. Through the El Paso Scottish Rite Consistory, he was awarded the 32° in March, 1961; he was invested as Knight Commander Court of Honor in November, 1975; and coroneted as Inspector General of the 33° in November, 1993. Os served on its Finance and Executive Committees. In December, 1997, he became founding director of the El Paso Scottish Rite Historical Library and Museum Foundation. His other Scottish Rite activities included: former member of the Suez Temple, San Angelo; former President, Director, Almoner and Chairman of the Hospital Committee of the Midland Scottish Rite Association; former President and Permanent Trustee of the Midland Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation; Founding Director and former President of the Midland Masonic Historical Museum and Library Foundation; and former Degree Master of the 21°, former Assistant Degree Master of the 27°, and former Degree Master of the 31°. In addition, Os was involved in the York Rite through his membership in the Keystone Chapter #172 (Midland), Keystone Council #162 (Midland), and Midland Commandery Knights Templar. The Royal Order of Scotland was conferred on him in July, 1996. Most recently in December, 2006, Os was honored for his 50 years of Masonic service.
Throughout his Scottish Rite involvement, Os was especially dedicated to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas and has sponsored more children for acceptance and treatment than any other individual. He was very proud to have been elected as Trustee to the Scottish Rite Hospital, where he served as Trustee since January, 2001.
Os is survived by his wife, Dixie, and two children and two grandchildren, John Osborne, an attorney in Houston, Texas, his two sons, John and Taylor, and Janet Osborne Leal, a real estate professional in Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, 2104 West Louisiana Avenue, Midland followed by graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 North Big Spring, Midland. Pallbearers include: Robert Truitt, Don McCarty, Dick Morris, Bill Hill, Ronnie Williams, and F. L. Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers will be all Masons. Pope, Wayland T.
Wayland T. Pope died Friday, January 5, 2007 at Rockwood Manor in Midland, Texas after a long illness. He was born October 11, 1930. He was a 1949 graduate of Lamesa High School. He married Nancy Scott. Most of his adult life was spent working in retail in Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, and Odessa Texas. Mr. Pope was a resident of the Midland/Odessa area since 1972 where he was employed by Roger's Ford, then Sewell Ford in Odessa, and owned his own used car business until the mid-1990s.
Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Busterbaum Pope, his parents, George and Gertrude (Cully) Pope of Lamesa, and a sister, Helen (Pope) Dyer. He is survived by three daughters, Anita Wangler and husband, Paul of Dallas; Terri Scott and husband, Dale of Ft. Worth; and Virginia LeCompte and husband, Ed of New Orleans; a stepson, Aaron Sharp of Odessa; ten grandchildren, Nathan Wangler, Rachel Wangler, Jessica Wangler, Daniel Wangler, and Hannah Wangler; Carly (Scott) Bhave, Wayland Scott, and Rebecca Scott; and Emily LeCompte and James LeCompte and two great-grandchildren, along with a niece, Gwen Dyer Johnson of Austin, and nephews, Dr. Jim Dyer of Argyle, Tx., and Bill Dyer of Houston.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Lamesa with Rev. Carl Crouch officiating. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.

Shaeffer, Stanley
Stanley Beaubien Shaeffer, of Midland, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007.
Born June 28, 1917 to Dr. Edward John Shaeffer and Marian Beaubien Shaeffer, Stanley graduated with a Geology degree from Antioch College and a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy as Chief Engineer of the "Black Gang" on several Destroyers. Stanley came to Midland in 1946 as a consulting geologist.
Family came first with Stanley and he spent countless hours with his boys in various sporting activities. He was also an avid fisherman, when he had the time. Active in the Midland Community Theatre, Stanley built theatre sets for over 50 years. Stanley never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Eubank Shaeffer.
Stanley is survived by three sons, Scott Edward Shaeffer and wife, Beverly, and their children, Carrie Shaeffer and Edward John Shaeffer, all of Houston, TX; Robert Keith Shaeffer and wife, Cathy, and their children, Whitney, Courtney, and Kelsey Shaeffer, all of Midland, TX; and Stanley Reese Shaeffer of Houston, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Roger P. and Gwendolyn Shaeffer of Bellevue, WA; nephews, Doug Shaeffer of Issaquah, WA; and Richard A. Shaeffer of Plymouth, MN.

Williams, Carolyn "Jo"
Carolyn "Jo" Williams, 73, of Centennial, Colorado, and for many years a resident of Lubbock, was celebrated into heaven on December 18, 2006. Jo is blessed with a quiver full of God's rewards, three daughters, Stacee Morgan (Mike) of Centennial, CO, Cyndi

She is the first in the family to play with her great grandson, Grant Neff, who welcomed her home.
Jo's passions included art, gardening, decorating, cycling and church. Her greatest blessings were her relationship with our Lord and her family and dear friends. Services were delayed due to a blizzard in Colorado, but will occur at Mission Hills Church in Greenwood Village, CO on January 13th at 11:00 am. Anderson, Payton Victor
Payton Victor Anderson, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2007.
He was born November 25, 1924 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Payton lived most of his life in Midland, graduating from Midland High School in 1941. After graduation, he attended the University of Texas and received a degree in Geology in 1945. He was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma social fraternity, serving as President.
Payton worked for Humble Oil Company until 1949 when he returned to Midland to form the firm of W. D. Anderson & Sons with his father and brother, Paul D. Anderson. In his career he was instrumental in the discovery and extension of numerous oil and gas fields in the Permian Basin and also North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and the Black Warrior Basin of Alabama and Mississippi.
He was a 50 year member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. Payton had been an active member of the First Presbyterian Church serving as Deacon and an Elder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren D. Anderson and Ada Erickson Anderson, and his brother, Paul D. Anderson.
Payton is survived by his wife, Evelyn Brewster Anderson of Midland, TX; daughters, Nancy Olson of Paige, TX; Janet Loeffler and her husband, Barney, of Houston, TX; and Gary Fell and her husband, Gregory, of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Robert and Randy Phariss, Court Loeffler and Corbin Carrell, Payton and Gregory Fell, Jr., and three great-grandchildren; cousins, Paul Dricky and Pat Anderson of Midland, TX; niece Karen Anderson, and nephew, Kenneth Anderson.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Steve Schorr officiating. AVERY -- Services for Alfred "Boots" Campbell, 86, of Andrews will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Clarksville Funeral Home in Clarksville, with the Rev. He was born June 24, 1920 in Idabel, Okla. to Thomas Emert Campbell and Katie Viola Porton. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Esther Hogland May 19, 1944 in New Boston. She preceded him in death. He married Maedean Alma Hogeland June 14, 1981 in Andrews. They moved to Andrews in 1983 from Mesquite. He was a member of House Of Mercy Ministries. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roland Campbell; one stepson, David Compton and one step daughter, Joan Hammack.
He is survived by his wife, Maedean Campbell of Andrews; one son, David Campbell of Clarksville; two daughters, Barbara Shults and Carol Harris of Arlington; two brothers, Alton Campbell of Alvin and F.D. Campbell of Valiant, Okla; three sisters, Lorene Estes of Avery, Billie Estes of Batesville, Ark. and Dorothy Heckadon of Idabel, Okla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and eleven stepgreat-grandchildren.

Kiowski, Mary Lou
On January 9, 2007, Mary Lou Kiowski met face-to-face, God the Father, God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, God the Holy Spirit, all His angels and all His saints, in the achievement of her eternal reward. A rosary will be Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 7:00 pm at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Midland. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 13, 2007, also at St. Stephen's. A private interment will be held.
Mary Lou Kiowski was born I Wellsville, Kansas on September 6, 1916. She was the 8th child of 9 born to Maude Dixon Shields and Byron Shields. After high school graduation, Mary Lou moved to Dallas with her sisters, Jean and Ethel. She attended Draughn's Business School. Mary Lou worked as a clerk for the Dallas Morning News and as a typist for the U.S. Treasury Dept. She then married Joseph William Kiowski of Dallas. Their marriage was blessed by the birth of their only child, Joseph Radford Kiowski. Mary Lou was extremely active in the Republican Party acting as a delegate to several Republican Conventions and serving at many levels. She was also active in the Catholic Daughters of America. She moved to Midland in 2000 to be close to family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Kiowski, I, her parents, her sisters, Olive and Jean and her brothers, Raymond, Charles, James and Delmas.
She is survived by her son, Joseph R. Kiowski and his wife, Carol, of Midland; her grandchildren, Kelly Avritt and her husband, John, of Copperas Cove, Lindsey Pena and her husband, Michael, Allison Holley and her husband, Daniel, Ashley Kiowski, Joseph W. Kiowski, II and William Kiowski, all of Midland; great grandchildren, Jake Ponsetti, Luke, Kellen and Grayson Avritt, all of Copperas Cove, and Tristan Holley of Midland. She is also survived by her brother, Ambrose, her sister, Ethel and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. She loved to laugh and never met a stranger. The family would like to express their appreciation to her Mabee Center family for making her last years a happy time.

Koistinen, Clifford
Clifford Vincent Koistinen, 85, of Midland, died Sunday, Jan. 7. He was born July 10, 1921 in Hayti, S.D., to Dogne and Martin Koistinen. He moved to Detroit, Mich. where he met and married Mary Elizabeth Skidmore Jan. 18, 1942. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a member of First Assembly Of God in Midland and First Baptist Church of Midland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Koistinen; parents; brother, George; and sisters, Gladys (Luella) Robinson, Adelaide Oldenkamp, and Betty Downs.
In 1996 he married Lillian Woods.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Koistinen of Midland; sons, Clifford Koistinen of Fort Myers, Fla. and Robert Koistinen of Sugar Land; daughters, Linda Pfister of Edmond, Okla., Janie Phillips of Odessa, and Sue Danila of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Gerald of Warren, Mich. and Kermitt of Arlington; and one sister, Violet Damiani of Palm Desert, Calif.; stepchildren, Gary Yee of Sugar Land, Becky and Bob Ernst of Austin; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loggins, Darah Shepherd
Darah Loggins went home to be with Jesus on Monday January 8, 2007. Darah was born February 20, 1970 in Lubbock, Texas to Charles Jackson Shepherd and Paula King Shepherd. When Darah was 3 years old the family moved to Calgary, Alberta Canada where they lived for 5 years before moving to Midland. Darah went to school at Emerson elementary and then Greenwood until she was 16 years old when the family moved to McDonough, Georgia. She attended Christ for the Nations, Gordon College, Dekalb College and Georgia State University. She married Bryan Loggins on May 2, 1997 in McDonough, Georgia. They moved back to Midland in 1998. She was a member of Mid-Cities Community Church.
Darah was preceded in death by her father in 2002 and her husband in 2006.
She is survived by her precious children; her sons, Kaleb Loggins and Kellen Loggins, her daughter, Kristin Loggins, her mother, Paula Shepherd, her sister, Cheryl Townsend, and her husband, Mo, all of Midland, TX; her brothers, Rick Shepherd and his wife, Dottie, of Jonesboro, GA; and Jack Shepherd and his wife, Marie, of McDonough, GA. She is also survived by her nieces, Marlena, Jenni, Micah and Jerran, and her nephews, Chaz, Gator, Robbie, Jason, Ryan and David.

Noble, Eldred

He was born Feb. 6, 1952, in Fort Sill, Okla., to Verda Lou and Eldred Allen Noble. He was a Christian.

Rodgers, Thelma Mae
Thelma Mae Rodgers, 76, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2007.
She was born on October 30, 1930 in Parksburg, PA. to the late Lillie Mae Sowers Keneagy and the late John Elias Keneagy.
Thelma was married to the late James W. Rodgers in 1983.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Edward Harry Perley, one daughter Deborah Ann Perley, one brother Bertram Keneagy and two sisters Arlene McKee and Pauline Hess.
She is survived by her three sons: Anthony and wife Kathy Perley of Joplin, MO, George A. Jr. and wife Elin Perley of Midland and John Joseph Casella of Santa Ana, CA,; Two daughters Rose and husband Michael Vollmers, and Tammie and husband David Newbold all of Midland; Four sisters: Romaine Keneagy of Pocopson, PA.,Mary Miller of Ronks, PA., Joan Horst of Leola, PA., and Virginia Crill of Ephratta, PA.; Two brothers, Horace Hess of Lancaster, PA., and Robert Hess of Paradise, PA and one sister in-law, Ester Keneagy of Ronks, PA.; Fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Shaeffer, Stanley
Stanley Beaubien Shaeffer, of Midland, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007.
Born June 28, 1917 to Dr. Edward John Shaeffer and Marian Beaubien Shaeffer, Stanley graduated with a Geology degree from Antioch College and a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy as Chief Engineer of the "Black Gang" on several Destroyers. Stanley came to Midland in 1946 as a consulting geologist.
Family came first with Stanley and he spent countless hours with his boys in various sporting activities. He was also an avid fisherman, when he had the time. Active in the Midland Community Theatre, Stanley built theatre sets for over 50 years. Stanley never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Eubank Shaeffer.
Stanley is survived by three sons, Scott Edward Shaeffer and wife, Beverly, and their children, Carrie Shaeffer and Edward John Shaeffer, all of Houston, TX; Robert Keith Shaeffer and wife, Cathy, and their children, Whitney, Courtney, and Kelsey Shaeffer, all of Midland, TX; and Stanley Reese Shaeffer of Houston, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Roger P. and Gwendolyn Shaeffer of Bellevue, WA; nephews, Doug Shaeffer of Issaquah, WA; and Richard A. Shaeffer of Plymouth, MN.
Stanley's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the professional and caring staff of Tender Touch and Allison Cancer Center.
Private services will be held. A celebration of Stanley's life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2007 at 3403 Meadowridge Lane. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Stuarti, Thelma Donohoo
Thelma Donohoo Stuarti was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2007.
She was born on a ranch in Hooker, Oklahoma on November 23, 1927. At the age of 12, May of 1940, Thelma moved to the "Falling Star" ranch in Clayton, New Mexico where she lived with her family. It was here where she learned to love music and developed her many talents in verse, song, and various musical instruments. At the age of 20 she moved to Midland, Texas and met Henry Donohoo. Thelma and Henry married when she was 21.
The Donohoo's were prominent in the restaurant business and were managers of the Midland County Club, Donohoo's Sea Food, Henry's Steak House, and other eating establishments in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Being a co-owner of the Midland Indian Baseball Club developed a lifetime love of the game and sport of baseball for Thelma.
In 1952, the growth and need of clerical and technical assistance in the offices of the oil and gas industry created a need for ladies ready to wear through the establishment of "The Career Girl". Thelma owned and managed the "Career Girl" until 1974, when she married the internationally renowned Italian tenor Enzo Stuarti in Indian Wells, California.
For the next 26 years she was the loving wife of Enzo, as well as his business manager and stage production technician. It was during these years of international travel, Thelma met and became friends with Kings, Queens, Potentates, Presidents, baseball heroes, golf greats, and all the "Best" of the Hollywood crowd. In October 2004, Thelma and Enzo returned to Midland, Texas to complete their retirement years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Leonard Franz and Agnes Martens Franz; husbands, Henry Donohoo and Enzo Stuarti; sister, Elvina Franz Harder, and brother, Marvin Franz.
Thelma is survived by brothers, Wilber "Willie" Franz and his wife, Rosalie, of Granbury, TX; Martin L. Franz and his wife, Frances of Clayton, NM; loving nephews and nieces, Martin Wayne Franz, Clinton Franz, Thelma Jean Wright, Marvin Franz, Jr., Jane Fain, and Judy Blackwell.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation to Patricia Johnson, Diane Wright, Ann and Ronnie Williams, and the entire staff of Green Tree County Club for their special love, affection, and care.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie and Ann Williams, Patricia Johnson, Diane Wright, Kay Tom, Bob Blakemore, A.M. Nunley, Dr. Gregory Bartha, Dr. James Huston, Bob Neatherlin, Chris and John Johnson. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. To place on-line condolences visit www.mem.com.
