Funeral services for Dan R. LUNSFORD, former City Marshall in Cameron were held Monday from the First Baptist Church, by Rev. L. L. MORRISS, pastor.

Mr. Lunsford suffered a heart attack on Thursday, Oct.14 and was taken to Newton Memorial Hospital for treatment and he died at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Lunsford was a native of Lampasas County, the son of pioneer parents. [Allen & Emma YOUNG Lunsford] He had been a resident of Milam Co. for a long time. During the past 20 years or more, he has been associated with the City Police Dept. and was appointed Marshall at the time of the death of Gene SMITH, later being elected a number of terms. He retired from the office in 1946 and engaged in business. At the time of his death, he was the owner of Place of Eats, formerly the old Newport Cafe.

Post Script: Dan Lunsford had several siblings. He had been married four times. Three wives having preceeded him in death: Louise PATSKE, Mamie LYLES,and Pearl HURRY. His fourth wife was the former Mrs. Mamie (GARNETT) PARNELL. Daniel Richard Lunsford had several children to survive him.
