Seeking information on the Clay Mann family. He moved from Parker Co. to Coleman Co. TX in the late 1860's. He was a cattle rancher. He came to Mitchell Co. in 1886 with 26,000 cattle with his "80" brand. He brought Daniel W. Wallace, a black cowboy with him. He was nicknamed "80 John" because he did most of the branding.
Much has been written on Wallace but very little on Clay Mann. I am trying to correct that and add him to his place in West Texas history.
