Jacob Shannon Black
Birth: Aug. 12, 1828
Death: May 22, 1872 Titus County Texas, USA

Confederate veteran, Pvt. Company I, 27th Texas Cavalry.
He was the son of Jacob and Margaret Peggy Sellers Black and was born in Tennessee. He first married Mary M. Wakefield in 1856. They had two children, Elizabeth and Jacob Melvin Black. Mary died in 1861 and he married second to Sallie Ogdon nee Barett. They had two more children, Sallie J. and George Chambers Black.
