Looking for any information on Christina (Chrissie) Diekroetger, her husband and any possible descendants. Some obituaries that I have list her husband as Thomas Wolford but one says he was Theodore Wolf. The obituaries from 1935 and 1942 have them living in Perryton, TX. One from 1948 says they were living in Amarillo, TX. Christina's parents were John Diekroetger and Catherine Rickelmann (Rinkelman). Christina was born 2 Jan 1896 near Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois.

Two cents worth??? Perhaps your Raymond Overbey was the person who died 28 Feb 1967 in Knox County, KY? Albert Courtney Overbey died 6 Jun 1951 in Union County, KY. Albert's wife must have died prior to 1930? In 1930 MO-Stoddard-New Lisbon-District 16-Image 2, Albert Overbey resided with James Cowgur's family identified as cousin. Some serious research, supported by documentation, needed for the Cowgur family! You, and others, indicate Albert Overbey's mother was Nancy Cowgur. In 1900 KY-Union County, John had been married 20 years to "Mary". In 1910 KY-Henderson County, John and Nancy Overbey were both on second marriages. John's sons: Claude, Albert, and Ira were part of both census. Nancy was previously married to unknown Fletcher as indicated by 1880 KY-Union County. When did John Overbey marry Nancy (nee: Cowgur) Fletcher?

His father was Herman R Overbey.
His mother was Stellar May Hopkins
Born April 10 1914. Place of birth was 15 miles West of Mangum Oklahoma. Herman was from Tennessee,he was a farmer. Must be the wrong Raymond according to his parents.
That is about all I know about my Overbey's

The death penalty will be asked for CLARENCE PRYOR, charged with murder, when he comes to trial in 31st district court at Wheeler tomorrow, district attorney RAYMOND ALLRED said last night. Pryor is charged with shooting his father-in-law, Dr. WARREN GUYTON, on the streets of Shamrock. Judge W. R. EWING will preside. Dr. Guyton was 70 years old. He was shot at a filling station in Shamrock. The law firm of Reynolds and Heare of Shamrock will present Mr. Pryor. Judge Newton P. Willis of Pampa has been engaged by relatives to assist in the district attorney in the prosecution.

I found "Josie" Abernathy d. 1906 in the Ochiltree Cemetery at findagrave.

I was wanting more informaion on this person.
Usally, a Church or Org., has the books: The books usally have who paid for the grave site and sometime more information about the person burried than what is on the tombstone.

I don't know where the books are, but have you checked http://www.findagrave.com/?

This is an excellent source. Some of the graves have photos but some do not.

You might check the Ochiltree County Clerk's office to see if they have the books.

Wondering if anyone has any info on these Brothers. Lived in Perryton. George was shot in 1929 and Arthur died in 1940. Would take any info as they were my grandpa and uncle. Arthur was married to a Mrs. Alma Bond who died in 1943. Thanks so much I live in OR.

Where is Heart Cemetery? I have found that William Frederick Lang and wife Tabitha Jane Wright Lang are buried there. He died in 1956 and she died in 1958. She had gone to a nephew's home in Pampa after William died.

I recently found the d.c. of Byron Walter Weld, dated 4 Sept 1953. The informant listed is Marion E. Anderson, his daughter. Would anyone know how I could obtain an obituary that might tell me more about Marion E. Anderson. I haven't been able to find much on her. Can not find a Grace Penrod w/parents Epriam & Anna on any census w/d.o.b. 1891.

Found one in 1900-parents Ephram & Mary Jane but, her d.o.b was 1896 Arizona.
1910 has Grace b. AZ 1896, parents Eph & Jane Hansen.

The only one which comes close is Grace Penrod b. 1890 OH -parents James & Hannah.

I'm assuming you posted on this board because the family lived in Ochiltree, TX?
When did she marry Howard Braden & where?

Many years ago I started on the genealogy gambit and it has been an exciting hobby....one you can put on a back burner for a while and then go back to it months later. My mother, Mattielee Quarles Hyatt was the younger sister of Linnie (18 years I think). I know so little about your family however,I do remember Aunt Linnie visiting in Georgia when I was a child. If you would like to share some information on your family I would love it. I have just finished an article on my/our grandparents and great grand parents for a book they are publishing in Gilmer County, Georgia where we were all from. I would be glad to send you a copy of that information if you would like to read it or for that matter any thing else that I have. Our Quarles line goes back to the early 1700 in the USA. Linnie Quarles, born August 10, 1894 in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Georgia married Alfred F. Cook and moved to Texas about 1913. They had two children A. F. Cook born Sept 11, 1921 married Barbara ?? and they had three children I believe. There was a set of twin boys. Linnie and Alfred's second child was Doyle Cook born ca 1923. I do not think he married. Linnie married Clarence Clements after the death of Alfred F. Cook, Sr. I think they are buried at the Orchiltree Cemetery in Perryton Texas. I would love information on this family,where they are buried, and/orhow to contact any of the family who might still be living. Linnie Quarles was my mother's sister. My line is JW Kelly. I have quite a bit of information on them, but nothing firm past their grandfather Caleb Kelly from Barren Co. KY.

Thanks for your reply and the info. I had already seen that website which is where my problem started. I have found through further research that the name is actually Sonnamaker. I have also found that George Barnet had three children, Peggy Lou as well as a sister, Helen Ruth and a brother, Jerry Lynn. Jerry passed away in 1998.

I still however, have not determined that this George Barnett is actually 'my' George Barnett. Anyone that can shed any light on this, I would really appreciate it.

Sommamakers in Ochiltree County

Does anyone know of a family in Ochiltree county named Sommamaker? I am trying to trace down the roots of a man named George W. Barnett, born in Virginia c.1861 and supposedly moved to Texas in the late 1880's. He married Mary E. Summers in 1905 and had one child, George Howard Barnett c. 1908. George Howard had one child I can find, Peggy Lou Barnett, who married Jack A. Sommamaker in 1969.

The problem is I cannot find anything on any family named Sommamaker. I would very much like to get in touch with Peggy Lou to support what I have on her grandfather. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated!
