I have a newspaper clipping of the death of Thomas Boren on 2 April 1888. The funeral was held the same day "going direct from the residence of Alex. Wilson to the Tascosa burial ground". Can anyone tell me where this burial ground is and is Thomas Boren buried there? If he is, is his birthdate mentioned? I have quite a few Thomas Boren's in my family and I am not sure which one this mentioned Thomas Boren is. Thank you.<br>Deb

They had 3 known children Jose (born Aug 1867), Juliana (born about 1870), and Francisco (my grandfather, born about 1874). They were living in Tascosa, TX. in Nov 1885 when Juliana married Trinidad Tofoya. The Roybals were sheep herders from New Mexico and could have been in the Tascosa area in the 1860s.

Hullett, Cowboy of Tascora

In 1880 there was a Hullett man who lived somewhere around Tascora and was a cowboy. I am seeking information on this man and since he was not listed in the 1880 census I am wondering whether he might have been listed in the head of household of some rancher. Is there a book on the cowboys of that area or perhaps a list of Ranchers with the listing of the cowboys who worked for them? Any help would be deeply appreciated.

We aren't sure where he was travelling on his mail run. We know his brother and other relatives moved to Van Zandt County. My grandmother and her sister were born in Weatherford, Texas. All we know is he delivered mail between Texas and Oklahoma, and one source told us between Denison and Durant, but so far, we have had no luck finding any information. Thank you. We need to start looking at all the census reports in that entire area. We did not find them in Parker County, as we had expected.

My grandmother married an Oldham man. Supposedly, his grandfather or great-grandfather did something great for Texas. I am trying to find out who Oldham County is named after. Allegedly, anyone descended from this man gets free burial in Texas. Anyone with information on the county history (beginnings) or this Oldham man, please contact me.

Posey Disappearance

I am searching for any records that would help locate my ggf, surname Posey, who delivered U. S. Mail between Durant, OK and Denison, TX. He was apparently robbed and murdered while on a mail run, and his stage was found in the river (I assume Red River or North Canadian). This would have occurred after 1878, when my grandmother was born. We cannot find any birth records for my grandmother (Laura Elizabeth Posey), and we do not know his first name, but it may be Thad. He was a full-blooded Indian from Oklahoma, possibly Cherokee or Chickasaw. He was also a Mason. I understand Sherman was part of Oldham County at that time in history. I am assuming that the family lived in the Denison/Sherman area, since that was the Texas end of his mail run.
