During the 1860's and 1870's in Palo Pinto County and surrounding area, Martin Emberlin married Elizabeth Littlefield, daughter of Wilson L. and Phamey E. Gilbert; they had four surviving children. His sister Glory married William Sparks in Denton Co.; she and her two children moved to Palo Pinto Co. after the Civil War and lived with/near their uncle, Levi Current. There was also supposed to be an Emberling who married a Littlefield, then a Gilbert in the same area. After reading through the History of Palo Pinto (an excellent book and index), there are present day descendants of Littlefield, Gilbert, and Sparks in the county and/or surrounding areas. Could any one help to clarify the questions about Littlefield, Gilbert, and Sparks possible connections with Emberlins. Really curious about any of the Sparks descendents. Thank you for any info that could be supplied. The Palo Pinto Historical Commission did excellent work with the History of Palo Pinto County book.
