BECKVILLE — Services for Martha Juanita WAITS, 82, of DeSoto and formerly of Beckville were Sunday at the Pine Grove Church in Beckville with the Revs. Jack Harris and Gene Kimbrell officiating. Mrs. Waits lived in Beckville for 65 years before moving to DeSoto four years ago. She was
buried in Youngblood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services for Martha Juanity WAITS, 82 of DeSoto and formerly of Beckville, were held Sunday at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Beckville. The Revs. Jack HARRIS and Gene HIMBRELL officiated. Burial followed in Youngblood Cemetery in Beckville under the direction of West/Hurtt Funeral Home in DeSoto. Born October 6 1916 in Flat Woods, Van Zandt County, she was the daughter of Poss HIGGINBOTHAM and Mary McCRAY HIGGINBOTHAM. SDhe was a resident of Beckville for more than 65 years and had lived in DeSoto for the past four years. She married Thomas Benton WAITS and was a life long member of Pine Grove Church. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in November 1977; brother Cllaudie HUGHES; and sister, Oree ARMSTRONG. Lena Fay CAUTHORN, and may Dell WALLACE. Survivors include her son and daughter in law Thomas Glen and Anna WAITS, of DeSoto; grandchildren, Geri BARRETT and Gerad WAITS, of Kilgore; four great grandchildren; sister, Mable Francis and Joana MADDOX, both of Henderson and Helen KIMBRELL of Mesquite.
