Texas did not require birth or death certificates before 1903, very few were filed after that. The state began to threaten doctors in the 19-teens if they did not start to file them. Birth information might be found in family bibles, tombstones, obituaries, census records, particuly the 1900, but never accept one record as absolute correct, try to find more than two sources at least that agree. People at your time period were born at home with Grandma, midwife, etc. mostly without a doctor. Evlyn Broumley
