I too am puzzled as to her being in Polk County, especially if she is D.R. Walker's daughter. I did take note of the 1880 census you mentioned, but have some doubts. Kitty had at least 5 children. Her name is listed as "Kitty" on two of death certs and as "Victoria" and "Matilda" on two others. I agree fully on the use of Kitty as a nickname for Catherine/Katherine. Many ancestry trees list her name as Victoria Matilda "Kitty" Walker, but I have yet to find solid evidence of name. I am under the impression she died giving birth to Lilly Victoria Cherry, her youngest in 1902. I have yet to find Kitty's death cert and grave.
