My gr gr grandfather is in Polk County, TX (Moscow) in the 1860 federal census. He moved there from Mississippi sometime after 1850 and moved back to mississippi before 1870. In the 1860 census, he appears to have owned real estate valued at 8,215. this seems high for my grandfather was not a wealthy man. Does anyone know what records are available so i can trace this land ownership?
