The book 'Murder in Palo Duron Canyon' by George Turner contains a chapter 'The Coming of the Casners'. It seems that two Casner brothers (William and Daniel)drove a herd of sheep into Randall County seeking pasture and made camp in the Palo Duro Canyon. They were subsequently murdered in 1876. As I understand it, two other Casner brothers arrived in Randall County in the spring of 1877 and committed several other murders in retalliation.
Does anyone have a copy of this particular book? I would like to know the name of the publisher, the year of publication.
Would like to communicate with anyone who might be able to shed some light on this intriguing bunch of Casners. The name is often spelled Casner, Cassner, Castner, Cosner, Cashner, Kastner, etc., etc. This one family is found in MO, IA, TX, NM, AZ, OR, CA.
