Truly admire your courage! "Been there done that" but in an earlier time! Born poor in 1946-East Texas, we ate lots of wild game and "poke salad". Of course we had vegetable gardens and chickens for eggs/meat. Neighbors/relatives shared slaughtered pork/beef. Prices for food, clothing, etc was cheaper then so we "made it" with a struggle. Currently, a single-person household with a monthly net income of $4,000 and find it difficult to amass savings. Oh well, pass the hat for my burial! Back to genealogy! Believe you don't have much info on Arrillia Rose (nee: Lowery) Foster? On your next visit to Rice Cemetery, find the grave of Nancy L. Nicholson (22 Nov 1868 - 29 Nov 1959). She was Arrillia's oldest sister and widow of Samuel Nicholson (31 Jul 1849 - 18 Jan 1929). Sam's buried in Rice Cemetery, also.
