Seeking descendants of Joseph Ross ADAMS, b. 1820 AL, and wife Francis CRAVEY/CRAVY, who lived in San Augustine county in the 1840's and 50's. They came to Sabine county in 1839 with Joseph's brother, Hopewell Hugh ADAMS. H.H. married Jane DEFEE. (Francis Cravey's brother?, William, married Finee DEFEE.) Joseph and Hopewell also had a sister, Elizabeth JACOBS, about whom I know nothing. Their mother, Mary ADAMS came to Texas with them. I think she is the Mary EVANS who married Hopewell ADAMS in Edgecombe County, NC in 1816. I have more information to exchange with other descendants.
