I would like to see if anyone can help me research possible family history in San Augustine. Let me introduce myself, and give you a breif recap of my family history. My name is George Johnson, and I live in El Paso, TX.. My father was George Henry Johnson from Lake Charles, LA, he was the son of George Johnson, and Minnie Belle Johnson. Many years ago, my father had mentioned that due to a family fight, his family had ceased to have any contact with his mother and father. I am unable to get any other information as far as my geneology due to not knowing my fraternal grandmother's maiden name. Last week, while cleaning out a safety deposit box that belonged to my father, I came accross a copy of a will belonging to John G. Berry. The original will was signed on October 28, 1871, in the presence of S.B. Bewley and George F. Border. The copy I have was reissued on December 8, 1919. I read through the will, and came across a portion that was marked with a reference to the children of Mr. Berry's dead daughter America. I have no idea why this was inside the deposit box, but I would like to see if you can help me further my search for my father's family.
