"Pinkney" and "Perry" are two of the oldest given names in the John Bodine of San Augustine line.
John's oldest daughter, Elizabeth (b. 1811 in Georgia), married Pinkney Lout 1810-1837 (originally Loude). Since he died even before John was killed, Elizabeth and Nancy handled his estate for many years. "Pinkney" appears often in the family genealogy.
"Perry" comes from the famous war hero Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, with whom John had served in the War of 1812. After returning from that war, John named his next son Oliver Hazard Perry Bodine. The name "Perry" has reappeared in the family many times -- my grandfather was Perry Alexander Bodine.
Hope this helps.
