My Albert S Johnson, son of WR Johnson and Penelope Dunning, died of an accidental gunshot wound at the age of 21 in 1901 and is buried at Stephens Creek, San Jacinto Co., TX, Mt. Zion Cemetery. A relative told me the details, painful as they are to family history. The 1900 census shows him single living with his stepfather's family.

He is not the ASJ you mentioned in your posting.

Peeped at your tree and Albert S. Johnson has very little info? "Stretching" 'cause when I graduated high school, a passing grade in Texas History was mandatory. Since I began genealogy research, 1998, I've learned to improve my knowledge of Texas' Geography. I believe Albert was the A. S. Johnson who wed Fannie Vivian Willcoxon, 15 Jul 1914 in Montgomery County? Albert Sidney Johnson (19 Mar 1880 - 8 Feb 1943) died in Harris County. Prove me wrong!

You authored the findagrave memorial for Penelope? Logon https://familysearch.org/ Click highlighted "Death" then enter Texas in "Death Place" box. Click highlighted "Parents" then enter James P Winters as the father and Nelly as the mom. Click "Search" and that'll return certificates on James C., John D., and Sherman Franklin. What additional info are you seeking?

I'm new at Genealogy networking. I am interested in the history of the John Green Stephens (1845-1904/1905) families, with wives Mary Ann Pruitt (1849-1931) and Fannie Howard (1879-1950). Many of their descendants are buried in Squier Cemetery and nearby Roark Cemetery. I have visited Squier Cemetery, which contains the grave of J G Stephens’ 2nd wife Fannie Howard Stephens Young (1879-1950). I would like directions to the nearby Roark Cemetery, which basis hearsay, contains the grave of J G Stephens, and his 1st wife Mary Ann Pruitt Stephens. Can give me (1) instructions for contacting the landowner for permission, and/or (2) directions to the Roark Cemetery.

Cheers, Mike Dach (my wife is Patricia Stephens of Cleveland, TX)
EM: dachmp@hal-pc.org Ph (H): 713-849-2679
Hello Paul,
My name is Nell Perry Wiliams. My great grandfather Henry Perry lived with the Gorees in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas on the 1870 census as a domestic servant. His mother supposedly came to Texas with the Gorees. Would love to see any info you have of him living with him. Supposedly his mother wore the last name "Rhodes". Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely
Nell

No doubt about it! You've got to do some inperson research at the county courthouse. The answers are simply not online! J. R. Jones wed Della Shirley, 6 Jan 1887, in San Jacinto. Deductive reasoning, Della was Mary's sister 'cause her widowed husband sheltered the Weaver brothers in 1900. Unable to find Della and Mary together in Alabama.

Looking for information on the parents of James Henry Weaver who married Mary Alice Strickland. Their daughter Clara Vera was my g-grandmother. On his death cert it says Frank Weaver and Mary Shirley but I have not found any other thing what so ever on them. I am almost certain they are buried somewhere in Center Hill Cemetery or Mount Zion but I haven't had the time to go out and look since I live in Fort Worth now. The only person I know who had information on the Weaver family was my grandfather's cousin Margie Jeffcoat and she passed away in January. I had tried to ask before a long time ago to see but she was never willing to share anything with anyone and I was always told she had a room full of family history stuff(the weavers were not a very "nice" family sometimes). The only Frank Weaver I ever found was someone incarcerated in Huntsville. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.

BTPL is Butler Cemetery in Coldspring, San Jacinto? Because I found a listing on Find A Grave ... lists 37 graves ... my JONES people not among these graves. Of course, that can mean that the 37 graves were recorded from the only existing grave stones at the time [looks like 2011] and the book was recorded from earlier [1997] and there might have been more grave stones or even the names taken from some other type of records, or ... who knows ... ??? ... but, any additional information is really appreciated.

Thanks for the reply and the research you have done.
Mollie was not daughter of Warrne Collins and Teletha....most likely some relation but not sure just how now. Her parents were J. D. Collins and Mollie Thackston out of MS.
Addie Phillips was to eventually be Mollie Collins's son in law.

I have him and family 1900/1920/1930 but he is missing 1920...

Amanda died after April 1930 census was taken. So far have not found a DC for her. But she died and is buried Hardin county Tx.
Again thanks.

Clueless about Mollie Collins. Based on geography, she could have been the daughter of Warren Collins and Telitha Evaline Valentine? They're found 1870 Hardin-Precinct 4-Image 9, but no proof 17-year old daughter was same person as Mollie in 1910. As for Addie Lee Phillips (18 Feb 1880 - 22 Apr 1953), he's not found in 1910 but registered for WWI Draft in Tyler County. You're not missing much from 1910 'cause he had a nine-year old stepdaughter in 1920. Estimating marriage about 1912/13? Not unusual for person(s) to not be enumerated on susequent census. Even more preplexing is his younger sister's, Mary M. Odom (28 Oct 1884 - 7 Jan 1961), absence from 1900 Census. If that's not enough, try locating death record for their mother, Amanda (nee: Richardson) Phillips-Fee?
