Nailer Pinkerton Connection Smith county 1870

Classification: Query
Surnames: Pickens Nailer
I have tracked my wifes Pinkerton line back a good 70 years in canton beat. My only real question is in the 1870's census #0237b,

there is a woman living with my Pinkerton family. Pickens and Rebbecca Pinkerton to be specific. There is a woman named Martha Nailer just living with them. She is 35 and has no occupation. I have no idea why she would be living there, also there is a family of nailer's living in canton beat. Charles and Mary nailer with there son William #0246a.

I'm looking for an opinion or someone that just know why. Thanks
Ross
