I'm wondering if I'm following the wrong lead then with your Mary Angela Crinnian. In my tree I have a "Angie L." born in Mar 1873 in MO. Angie later married a Frank M. Thompson. So I'm going to do some more research and I'll let ya know what I drag up if anything. Thanks!

I don't have any records of Frank Thompson or any other Thompson. Mary Angela Crinnian's biological parents were Charles Sprague and Celestia Adalyne (maiden name uknown). The adoption papers were witnessed by William Crinnian and J. F. Spalding. The adoption papers were dated April 1874. Mary Angela's name at birth was Clara Sprague.

Sounds great. Angie Crinnian comes into play on my fiances side as his great grandmother who married Frank Thompson. Apparently he was abusive, also a Denver Police Officer, so his family had very little contact with them. I have Franks certificate of appointment to Denver Police. My email address is ckjohnson183@gmail.com.

Sounds like we are on the same path. I have quite a bit of information on My grandmother. She was Mary Angela Crinnian the ADOPTED daughter of James Crinnian and Martha Burke.
The Ida Burke you are refering to is the sister of Martha. Ida's married name was Altman. My grandfather James Patterson and Mary Angela (Crinnian) Patterson also named one of their daughter's Ida.
James Crinnian was the doctor who delivered Mary Angela (that was not her name at birth). I have the adoption record and much more. If you will send your snail mail address I will send copies of all the information I have. I have the complete widow pension records of Mary Burke Crinnian. After the downing of Dr. Crinnian in the Brazos river Martha & Angie moved to Kansas.

Patricia,
I've ran into a road block on the mother of Frank M. Thompson in my family tree. I knew only her name was Angie L and she was born Mar of 1873 in MO. A search of birth/census there was only one, Angie (middle initial unk.) Crinnian daughter to Martha & James Crinnian. Martha shows sometime between 1885 and 1890 that she is a widow. Marth had another daughter named Ida Burke in a census too, and it appears Burke is her maiden name. I did find records of Martha, Angie and James living in Glenrose and came across a record of drowning. Your story sounds like we are linked to the road I am reasearching to verify if Angie L. is Angie Crinnian, and now I wonder if she is Mary Angela Crinnian. Do you have any further research onf Mary Angelas? Thank you Crystal

I am not related! If you get started researching, you'll thoroughly enjoy the experience! View online death certificate of your great grandfather: H. O. Barclay (11 Sep 1880 - 2 May 1952) at http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start Then view "Stone/Lambert Family Tree" owned by ChristinaStone88 at http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/12304026/person/-274850500 Digest that then view 1900 census of Hood County, TX-Precinct 1-District91-Image 26. Note your great grandfather had a twin brother, James. He also had younger twin siblings, Earl and Ethel. Any twins in your family? Anyway, the parents were Thomas Humphrey Barclay and Serena Elizabeth McCommas who wed 15 Oct 1874 per pedigree submitted by Robert S. Shields of Seattle, WA. That's viewable at familysearch.org. Lots people have saved records on Thomas H. Barclay. You probably have lots of info on Hollis O.? Guess what? Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in Hollis O.'s twin? Let's fix that? Hallis(sp) O. Barclay registered for WWI Draft in Somervell County with a birthdate of 11 Sep 1880. Wife Clarence was next-of-kin. James Barclay registered for the draft in Hardeman County with same birthdate. Wife Rosa Lee was next-of-kin. James B. Barclay and Rosa Lee Cross married about 1903 per 1910 Hardeman-Damsite-District 132-Image 1. Search for Jim Barclay. In 1920 Hardeman-Precinct 4-District 125-Image 13, the surname was corrupted to Blarclay. In 1930 Hardeman-Precinct 4-District 11-Image 1, search for Jim B. Barclay. James B. Barclay (11 Sep 1880 - 8 Jan 1956) and wife Rosa Lee Barclay (19 Oct 1884 - 29 Jan 1956) have online death certificates. James' son Earl wed Jewell Dee Boswell and begat Harold J. Barclay. Harold wed Rosita (Rose) Mae Licostie and there are three births on the database. Son Harold Earl Barclay has a birth record listed, also. Straight to the point! Search birth index for surname Barclay in Potter County. They are descended from James B. Barclay.

I am also trying to do some work on the Cheek family...but have hit a big wall. My great grand mother was Dora Cheek...from Carroll County Mississippi. All records show that in 1880 she and her brother were being raised by an Aunt and Uncle by the name of Hughs (Hughes) Joseph and Mary Ann. But there are no records for her before this. She was born somewhere around 1870. Census records of 1880 show her to be around 9 and her brother Byron? to be 6 yrs of age. Any help would be appreciated.

I know you're not hear to read this but i want everyone to know how special and great you were.
To anyone reading this: my Na'Na was my best friend. I loved her more than i loved my own mom. I knew i could come to her about anything and everything and if she was still here i still would. Even though its been 8 years i still think of her everyday. She was a rare person. So sweet, caring, and a survivor. She's my hero. I want everyone to know how amazing she is, but their arent enough words to describe how perfect and great and amazing she was. I will always remember her. Everyone who ever knew her will always remember her. And if you didnt know her its ashame, because she was a fantastic person.
I love you Na'Na and i miss you so much!!!

She talked about her mother saying that she had died when she was only two or three. She told the story of her mother being buied between Thorndale and Rockdale and that her mother's brother carved her name on the tree by her grave.
Her father, David Dawson remarried and his wife's name was Daisy. I always knew my grandmother didn't like step-mothers. I wonder who changed her name?

I am doing a family tree and need the name of someone in Glen Rose. There seem to be 2 men fitting this description. I need the name or info of the man who worked construction in Glen Rose for years, is over 60, Cherokee, and is sometimes called Chief. It is not L. Jones. It is a man older then he.I have no names to go on as the source did not know the real name. I have a week to finish this tree and would like at least a name or more information. Thank you.
From a copy of "In and around Somervell County, TX" on page 557:

Martin, Mary J. -
"Gone Home" -
Dau. of J. J. & E. Martin -
Apr. 25, 1859 - Oct. 31, 1877 -
(Kendrick Bros. - Cleburne, Texas) -
fs: M.J.M. -

It appears this woman was never married.
I am not part of the Collection you have tried to contact. I just happen to have a copy of the book.
S. J. Sitz
