I was born in Starr County Texas. We came to California in 1945 and know little about the history of my family except for the following information. My great grandfather was William Peek (Peek)(Peak)(Peaks). We think that he had a stage or pony express line in the county. His wife was Pioquinta Barreras. He had 3 children.Maria, Anita Louise and William. Maria had one daughter Maria, my mother, and Anita Louise had 2 children, Anita and William, They were all adopted by the grandparents. My mother, was adopted by the grandparents, but on her birth certificate it says her father was Ismael Flores. We think that my great grandfather came to texas from Kentucky during or after the Civil War.
