Last Rites for Pioneer of Stephens County
ASA N. ROGERS, age 64, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. IRVIN GRAY near Wayland, Saturday night. He had been seriously ill for several weeks. He lived in the Harpersville community since 1891. He was born Nov. 24, 1888 in Limestone County. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Kiker funeral home with Elder MITCHELL LYKINS of Hamtilon officiating. Interment was in the Harpersville cemetery. Rogers is survived by his wife, the former EFFIE ENGLAND; three daughters, Mrs. MELVIN HOWARD of Snyder, Mrs. IRVIN GRAY of Wayland and Mrs. BERT CHADWELL of Midland; three sons, JOLETTE ROGERS of Wichett, TEMPLE ROGERS of Proctor and WARREN G. ROGERS of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. M. A. SCARLETTE of Breckenridge, and three brothers, L. G. ROGERS, OWEN ROGERS, and W. ROGERS, all of Breckenridge. Pallbearers: RAY ROGERS, J. N. ROGERS, EDWIN ROGERS, ALEX SIKES, J. R. ROGERS, and AROL ROGERS.
