Accident Proves Fatal
Injuries received Saturday afternoon by JOHN T. HAMIL, Stephens County pioneer rancher, Monday proved fatal, the aged man dying at the Westside Hospital at 1:45. Mr. Hamil, who was 85 years old, was struck accidentally by the fender of a car driven by Miss Haley, police reported at the time. Mrs. Hamil was knocked to the pavement and his right leg broken. Mr. Hamil, whose home was five miles northeast of Caddo, had resided in Stephens County over 50 years, much of the time engaged in ranching.
Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. CLARK of Caddo, officiating. Burial will be in the Bee Branch cemetery. Pallbearers were to be selected from 24 grandchildren.
Surviving are his widow, six daughters and four sons, ALMA GANDY of Overton, FLOY ARMSTRONG of Andrews, ZULA DAVENPORT of Caddo, VERNA KEY of Breckenridge, IVA GORRELL of Caddo, HOLLIE SPRADLING of Caddo, W. E. HAMIL, ZEKE HAMIL, and J. T. HAMIL of Caddo, WILLARD HAMIL of Crane, 24 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
