William Richard Carver is my Gr. Gr. Uncle. He was not hanged. He was shot by Sheriff Elijah ‘Lige’ S. Bryant and his deputies when they attempted to arrest him. Some research indicates he was born in Wilson County, TX, while other states it was Coryell County. Perhaps the lines changed over time. He is buried in the Sonora Cemetery in Sonora, Texas.
