From the March 15, 2002 issue of The Terrell County News-Leader, page 2:

Irvin Robbins Sr., 86, passed away March 10, 2002 in Odessa's Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.

He was born January 9, 1916 in Alexander, Illinois and moved to Sanderson in 1934. He was employed with the Southern Pacific Railroad for 46 years working out of Sanderson.

After retiring, he enjoyed his daily rounds of having coffee with friends and putting up the flag. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sanderson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, who passed away on March 10, 1996, and a twin brother, Ed, who died in May of 2000.

Survivors include three daughters; Betty Jane Robbins of Norman, Oklahoma, Susi Christman of Phoenix, Arizona, and Lisa Cass of Odessa, Texas; two sons, Irvin Robbins Jr. of Cocoa, Florida and Mike Robbins of Aubrey, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Sanderson Wednesday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Preston Taylor officiating.
