His full name was Joseph Henry Cain. He was born in Pennsylvania.

He was son of: Joseph H. Cain and Katie C. (Scott) Cain, both of Maryland

He was the widowed husband of Ida (Bonnet) Cain

They were married February 18, 1920 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

He and Ida resided in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio for many years before returning to Texas.

No children are shown with them on the 1930 and 1940 U. S. Census.

Ida died in 1967.

After Ida died, Joseph Henry Cain married a second time, however he and his second wife divorced a short time later.

No children were born to the second marriage.

He died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
