"Last Friday afternoon, July 11, the death angel came to escort the spirit of Mrs. D.H. Swindall to her eternal home in heaven. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Revs. C. Pugsley and John W. Goodwin and the remains were laid to rest in White Rose Cemetery by the side of her husband who proceeded her to the life beyond on January 21, 1918. Mrs. Swindall, nee Elizabeth Churchwell, was born in Alabama February 24, 1844 and came to Texas with her parents when about ten years old and came to Van Zandt County more than 40 years ago. She was united in marriage September 5, 1879 to D.H. Swindall in Prairieville. To this union was born one son, Rev. Eustice P. Swindall who survives..."
