I am seeking information regarding my maternal ggfs:

i) Charles R. Lemay (b. Lauderdale Co., AL 1n 1844 m. Sarah Trousdale b.AL.) The family moved to TX sometime prior to Jan 8, 1873, when my gf James Marion Lemay was born on the "Henry Fuller's place" near Center, TX.

I have been unable to find any verifyable vital statistics on Charles R. Lemay or Sarah Trousdale in AL. Would like to know: a)vital stats on their parents, siblings and children. b)when the family arrived in TX.; who came; from where; moves within Van Zandt Co.? c) deeds etc? d) dates of death and where buried? Charles R. Lemay's father is supposedly Pleasant M. Lemay b.Feb 22, 1810 in Granville, Co., NC, d. 1880-1890 in Lawrence Co. AL. Can't find any record of Charles R. as his son.

ii) John Joslin Rutledge (b. Aug 24, 1835 in Jasper, Walker Co. AL.d.1922, Kaufman Co.,TX, m. Mary Margaret Norris b. 1841 in Jasper, Walker Co., AL. d. about 1890). The Rutledge family moved to TX and settled out from Elmo and Terell, near Able Springs.

James Marion Lemay married Nancy Alice Rutledge on Sept 16, 1894 in Independence TX, but the their family always lived at or near Wills Point. Need data on the Rutledges same as above, with particular emphasis on John Joslin and Nancy Alice's siblings. Supposedly a brother Sam Rutledge served as a policeman or deputy sheriff for many years in Terrell.

Would certainly appreciate any help.

Marion
