My daddy told me stories about the wooden bridge across the Red River from Grandfield, Tillman Co., OK to Bridgetown. He said that it was a toll bridge.
He told about how he & his best friend would ride their bicycles across to the Texas side & ride into Burkburnett. He said that it cost a nickel each way but the toll keeper would let them go across for free.
My aunt told how she would have to back up the hill at Bridgetown in her Model T because it didn't have enough power in low gear.
