My father, Jesse Hensarling, lived either at New Town or Bridgetown around late 1919 and part of 1920. My parents married in April 1920 and went directly to his home in Wichita Co. He had a Mercantile Store and was a partner in a small bank. In June or July, partners took off with the money of the bank, and my parents were forced to flee the area leaving possessions behind. All I know about this is what my step sister told me. I cannot find reference to this incident in old files. In a July 1920 lisitng of postmasters, the name Jesse Hensarling for Bridgetown shows that he declined, indicating they were gone from the area. If anyone knows anything about this"robbery" and the outcome, I would very much like to hear from you.
