Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth N. McElroy, age 89, of Winnfield will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with Revs. Kenneth Tarver and Russ Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery.
Mrs. McElroy died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 in the Winn Parish Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Mrs. McElroy was preceded in death by her husband, Ardis McElroy.
Survivors include one son, John Ray McElroy and his wife Joyce of Winnfield; one daughter, Sheila M. Walker and her husband Ray of Dodson; five grandchildren, Mike Walker and his wife Vanita of Dodson, Sarita Horne and her husband Tracey of Atlanta, Bobby Yelverton and his wife Nadine of Verda, Heath McElroy of NAS Lemoore, Calif., and Heather Pendarvis and her husband Brock of Winnfield; five great-grandchildren, Thomas Horne, Cara Walker, Lauren Walker, Haley Pendarvis and Hannah Pendarvis; niece, Velma Lee Hurst and her husband Paul of Marrero; and three nephews, Buddy Stevenson of Jonesboro, Bobby Norred of Jonesboro and Billy Norred of Gretna.
Pallbearers will be Mike Walker, Paul Hurst, Tracey Horne, Brock Pendarvis, Daniel Wyatt, Jesse Dyson, Ricky Waller and Troy Massey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Horne, Bobby Yelverton, Hubert Howard, Heath McElroy and Jimmy Thompson.
