I am a volunteer researcher for the Texas Peace Officers Memorial. The Dallas Morning News, Sunday, 2 June 1929, reports that Wink chief of police R N GILBREATH was found dangerously wounded Friday night (31 May 1929) at the city jail. The chief's skull was fractured, a bullet wound was above his nose. I would like to know about the circumstances surrounding this incident, did GILBREATH die as a result of these injuries, if so when, and where is he buried. Thanks,
