I'm looking for information about my Grandfather's side of the family. His name was Estanislao Sierra and he was born in La Mesa, NM and died in Canutillo, TX. His father was Jose Teofilo Sierra, believed to be born in San Elizario, TX. Jose's parents were Hilario Sierra and Dolores Sambrano. Hilario and Dolores had at least 5 hijos: Jose Martin Sierra, born 1 Nov 1845 in San Eli, died 1917 in Las Cruces, NM, Maria de Jesus who married Crua Padia, Mariano, who was elected amyor of Socorro, TX in 1897, Anastacia de Altagracia, born 11 Apr 1843 in San Eli. Hilario Sierra's parents were Jose Maria Sierra and Eusebia Guerra. The 1803 census of the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe del Paso del Rio del Norte shows Jose Maria Sierra and his wife, Maria de los Angeles Saenz, 2 hijos; Jose Maria and Timoteo.
