Did my response cause you to become confused? If so, I'm sorry! Based on my experience, daily for the past 12 years, an average of more than four years will elapse before someone in your family reacts to your posting. This is definitely likely because you did not include given names, dates, births, deaths, and other vital info. That aside, I've learned to take what's given and proceed forward! Your father died 23 Jul 1975 in Mesquite. His parents were: Dwight Liman Moody Orr (9 Jun 1887 - 28 Oct 1961) and Lura Maude (nee: Newsome) Orr-Huddleston (27 Jun 1890 - 5 Oct 1954). Your father was the informant on his mom's death certificate. Dwight's parents were: Rev Joseph Blake Orr (15 Nov 1858 - 4 Sep 1940) and Louisiana Savannah "Hoop" (nee: Mitchell) Orr (9 Jun 1860 - 22 Nov 1953). An interesting connection: Dwight's eldest sister (Ida) married Charles Washington Newsome. Charles was the uncle of Dwight's first wife, Maude. Thus Ida became sister-in-law and aunt of Maude. Rev. J. B. Orr's parents: Jehu "John" Orr (29 May 1813 - 25 Mar 1907) and Sarah Elizabeth (nee: Eidson) Orr (1 Oct 1826 - 22 Jul 1891). The family's roots are in Lineville, Clay County, AL. They arrived in Coffeeville, Upshur County, TX ca. 1895. Nearly every person mentioned has a memorial at findagrave.com. Lookup Rev Joseph Blake Orr in Upshur County. There's a bio attached with most of the kids listed. Found eleven siblings for Rev Orr but he appears to have been the only one to relocate to Texas?
