Wow! Uncle Chink and Buffy the Pot-gut killer! Yeah this is the right Dave. Sheesh, I put that message up 10 years ago! How funny. I actually never got the emails. I canceled my account when I spent 5 years of membership and got nothing out of Ancestry. You can find me on Facebook if you have an account... https://www.facebook.com/dave.chiarelli. I know we did not get along all that well. Kids are pretty cruel. I was an outsider "city slicker" who got to ride a pregnant pony that laid down allot and got ditched in the Grandaddys by you and Randy, but it was a great summer! Chatting would be great and pictures would be appreciated.

Hi Dave! This is Marla! So u remember me? I think we fought the while time and drove Chink n Joe crazy. I am shocked to c this inquiry. I would love to chat with u sometime about the ranch. The ranch is a huge part of who I am and totally understand the influence that it seems to hav had on u as well. I dont kno if I can help but would love to try. I live in Galt Ca. Near Sacramento. With my husband n 8 yr old daughter Sia. She has a very long full name. Chiarelli is one of her middle names. Chink was the very most important person to me and my 2cousin siblings. His death was 17the yrs ago this month on the 12th. I wish me n u could hav had more time to spend together growing up. Im sure we would hav shared so much joy when we got over r silly n annoying attitudes. Lol. Feel free to contact me via email at this point. I guess I should make sure u r the guy I think n hope u r. Too weird that I found this and u posted it so long ago. Im always searching for history on them as well. Take care. ★Marla C Major★(Barnes)

Descendants of Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald - Reunion Sept 8, 2012

This year is the 150th anniversary of LDS Pionner Elizabeth Russell Archibald's immigration to Utah.

Many people in Utah and Idaho are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald. Thomas Archibald died in Scotland but Elizabeth Russell Archibald came to Wellsville with several of her children. Some went to Idaho and some went to Canada.

A family reunion for all descendants of Elizabeth Russell Archibald is being planned for Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at the Wellsville, Utah bowery by cousin Brandon Sundeen. He is planning games for the younger children, sharing of family history info for the adults, followed by a memorial service at the Wellsville Cemetery. Food is POT LUCK. Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring.

If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing.

For more details contact Brandon Sundeen. Phone: 503-396-2178 OR email: brandonsundeen@gmail.com

Please help us get the word out. Pass this information on to all of your extended family so that they may attend if they are interested.

Sharon,

This weekend I was exploring in Lake Canyon, Utah and I came across a small aluminum name tag with the inscription "OSCAR T. WHITE DUCHESNE,UTAH" on it. I believe this is an ear tag for livestock??

Do you know if your grandfather spent much time in Lake Canyon? Was he a rancher (cattle/sheep)? If so, did he take his livestock to Lake Canyon in the summer months?

I believe that this name plate likely belonged to your grandfather.

Rather than responding to this post in this site, please respond to me at 38wcf@q.com.

Thanks, Rod

Re: Lookup: Ned Weld Felch (d. 1924)

I found a Utah death certificate on line for Ned Weld Felch. The other information listed states that he was born on 28 Feb 1870 in Canyon City, Colorado. His father is Marshall Perry Felch, and Mother is Amanda M. Colburn. The writing isn't very clear, but it looks like Marshall Felch is from Lowell, Massachusetts. Amanda is from Vermont. The date and place of death is 28 Jan 1924, in Roosevelt, Duchesne, Utah. He was 53 years and 11 months old. He was buried in Roosevelt on 30 Jan 1924. He was listed as single, no wife was listed for him. His Occupation was Farm Helper. The name of his Employer was Chas Zimmerman. The informant was Sarah Zimmerman. The Utah death certificate can be found on line, through the LDS church web site: familysearch.org, then click on the small box at the top of the page that says: Try the updated site. Then type Ned's information into the spaces provided and click search. when you find his info, click on his name and it will bring up more inofmation. On the left, you can select view image, and you can print the death certificate. I hope this helps you. Richard

Elijah and Harriet are my GGG grandparents. I've done a good amount of research on them and would love to exchange for the "old story about their time in Tennessee." That would be so great. I just bought a book that gives some details about Elijah, also. My husband and I had no idea until a couple of years ago that we had an ancestor with the same birthday (different year of course) as our son Elijah!!! What are the odds. We actually named him after hubby's grandpa...not my side of the family. Anyway, we may be distant cousins, huh? We're Utah natives; grew up in Provo and been in Montana for last 14 years. Look forward to hearing from you.

While I am grateful for the information provided on the Hardinger family since I posted my initial message, I am only looking for information from Roosevelt, Utah. I already have the information from Bedford, Pennsylvania, the census records and from the familysearch.org website. I am hoping to find information that is not located on the normal internet websites...or if there is information there, then the location of obscure sites that I might have missed. I don't intend this post to be rude or ungrateful, but I thought I was clear in my original posting that I already had the basic information and was looking for information specific to the Roosevelt, Utah area. The ancestry.com trees that are discussed in this last posting are not complete and contain many, many errors. It is my hope to find information IN Roosevelt, Utah that could help clear up those errors and fix the inconsistencies in the trees on ancestry.com and familysearch.org. I hope you understand. If you are a member of this family, I would like you to post back. Perhaps you have information that could help to clarify some of these problems.

here is an obit on the Mother of the 3 brothers I am sure the bottom one is a brother also. There is a draft cards on all three brothers from 1918 at ancestry.com plus many family trees on the families the 1930 census list all their children if you need it let me know
Melba
The Cumberland Times

HARDINGER 12 Feb 1914 Mrs Rebecca Hardinger, aged about 72 years, widow of James Hardinger, died at Indian Creek PA last night of Brights disease. At the time of her death, she was visiting her sister, Mrs Alice Miller. She was a member of the Bethel ME church of Cumberland Valley PA. Surviving children are: William Hardinger and Mrs Emma Leasure of Cumberland Valley; Monroe Hardinger; George Hardinger and Harry Hardinger of Roosevelt UT; and these sisters and brothers; Mrs GS Hite-Cumberland; Mrs Elizabeth Evans-Hyndman; Mrs Alice Miller-Indian Creek PA; Thomas Dicken -Winfield KS; J Clark Dicken-Corriganville; and Charles Dicken, of the War Dept, Washington DC. She was a daughter of the late John Dicken, a prominent farmer and auctioneer of Cumberland Valley PA.

HARDINGER 16 Jun 1914 The badly decomposed body of William T Hardinger, 41 years old, a wood sawyer from Hazen, this county, was found hanging from a tree suspended from a limb by bailing wire yesterday morning near M&K Junction, above Rowelsburg WV. It was necessary to bury the body where it was found. Hardinger, employed by the TB Smouse Company, a lumberman of this city, had been missing for over a week. His father-in-law, William H Twigg, went from Cumberland to Rowelsburg and with a search party, hunted for him in the woods. They found him hanging from a tree. Hardinger was married and is survived by a wife and 7 children. Hardinger was a heavy man well known in the county. He had been sent to Rowelsburg to saw timber. The coroners inquest gave a verdict of suicide. He was the son of James Hardinger, a farmer of Cumberland Valley. His mother died a year ago. Two brothers live in Roosevelt Utah.
I am searching for any information on the Hardinger family who arrived in Roosevelt from Pennsylvania between 1900 and 1910. It appears they orginally came to Utah for work, but then stayed there. The names that I know of are: Alva Monroe Hardinger, Harry Cleveland Hardinger and George McLamar Hardinger. Harry and George seem to have married once they arrived in Utah, but Alva (maybe Alvin) married in Pennsylvania and brought his bride with him. Alva's bride was Bessie Elliott. I have found some of their children's death certificates...but I really am interested in finding any information about these 3 men and their families. If anyone can provide any help at all, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Sheila,
I am the oldest son of Bud M. Thompson. I have almost all of his geneology so, if you have a relative that you feel may be related, let me know. My e-mail address is sahaptan@myway.com. I got the records from my Uncle John Thompson, his brother, in 1971, in Duchesne, Utah where I had lived with my Grandmother Effie May Thompson for a time when I was a young child (1950's).

My father and I were very estranged because of his wife, who was my step-mother. Too bad, because he missed out on meeting my family and I found out last June that I have brothers and sisters whom, I believe, know nothing about me as well. Wouldn't they be surprised!

Hi, William & Luzernia are my great-grandparents. Their daughter, Evinda is my grandmother. My mother was her oldest daughter. I'd be interested in what you might have found out about my great grandfather.

Thanks!

HELLO.
If this is the same Hannah - she remarried to a Joseph Reither and was buried in the Myton City Cemetery. I think that there is also a death certificate on line - that said she died from a fall from a buggy. But that gives her death date as May 26 1915 I will try to send it to you
Melba Riverside Ca

The IGI has a death date of 20 May 1915 for Hannah Frances Jeffrey Mead in Myton, Duchesne County, Utah. I would appreciate an obituary for her. kimdavenport@mchsi.com I have not been able to confirm this date of death, and I have not been able to locate her in a census record after 1870. Perhaps she remarried, but the IGI does not show a second husband for her.

You should check out the following website to be able to view death certificates, and some birth certificates on the archives website for Utah.

Go to http://www.historyresearch.utah.gov/
Then click on the menu option called "Subject Guides"
Select "Death Records"
Then click on the link for Death Records from 1905-1955
Then click on the index link.
Run a search on that page with last name first, first name.
A good majority of these records have a link back to the image of the death certificate.

Anyone know of a book (articles/stories) relevant to this particular wagon train? My ancestors travelled with these folks, and I'm looking for more information about them. I've secured a few stories from the DUP & list of names from the LDS website, but am also looking for other sources. Thank you.
I'm trying to locate family ties to a Joseph Chiarelli, Born May 13, 1888 in Monopoli, Bari, Italy. He was living in Jersey City, N.J. in 1917. He had three children - Benjamin B Abt. 1925 -
Phillip born Mar. 11, 1927 and Eugene Born Abt. 1928. His wife's name may have been Rosa. I believe his father to be Benjamin and mother Lucia and sister Maria.
